Eligibility Criteria:1. Malaysian citizen.

4. Applicants must possess pre-university results for overseas university applications.
5. SPM leavers are only eligible for local universities.

A. Yayasan Biasiswa Sarawak Tunku Abdul Rahman
Eligibility
Must be a Malaysian(priority is given to Sarawakians).
Full-time students undertaking degree, Master’s or doctorate program.
Grade B in each subject in STPM or CGPA of 3.00 and above for Foundation
students enrolled in degree program and students within the degree
program.Excellent academic results and actively involved in co-curricular
activities.Must not have been offered other scholarships.Only short-listed candidates
will be called for interview.
Availability
The Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship is usually advertised in local newspapers
each year from March until end of July.

The government of Malaysia has consistently stressed on the importance of
education as one of the most important sectors of growth for the country. With this in
mind, the Education Ministry and other relevant governmental bodies have made
available many types of financial packages from banks, financial institutions, state

HELP welcomes applications from high academic achievers for Scholarship and Study
Awards from both new and continuing students.
In addition, HELP also provides Financial Assistance to students (HELP University
students only) who are facing financial difficulties but who are not eligible for scholarship
awards based on academic achievements. The financial assistance will take the form of an
interest-free study loan, which is granted at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and
is intended to assist you in financing your studies at HELP.

The Hong Leong Foundation Scholarship Programmes is open to all Malaysian citizens
who have an excellent academic record, active in extra-curricular activities but financially

General Information On Scholarships
1. Period of scholarship:
The Scholarships will be awarded to successful student for 1 year (Semester 1 & 2 ),
however student may apply fresh application for the following semester if the student
is not exceeded the normal study period.
2. Signing of the Scholarship Agreement:
The successful candidate is required to sign the scholar agreement with the
University (IIUM).
3. Suspension of Scholarship
 Student who have granted study leave / medical leave are not eligible for the
scholarship for the period of the leave.
 The scholarship will be suspended automatically if the students DO NOT
obtain a CGPA or the Research Progress Report Rating Scale. As such, the
students will be required to pay the fees during suspension period.
 Students who register below the minimum credit hours required (< 9 Cr Hrs)
will not receive the scholarship for that particular semester.
4. Termination of scholarship:
The scholar can be terminated by the University by giving 30 days’ notice to the
student.
The University holds the right to terminate the scholar, without any prior notice if the
recipient:
1. Is guilty of breaching the Students’ Discipline Rules 1984 ( amendment 2004);
2. Is found guilty of misconduct improper moral behaviors;
3. Fails to maintain good academic performance;
4. Is not allowed to continue his / her studies;
5. Is not fulfill / fails to complete his / her studies;
6. Is certified to be medically unfit to continue his / her studies.
Amendments to the Rules and Regulations:
The Board of the IIUM Postgraduate Scholarship reserves the right to add / vary / amend or
alter the rules and regulations of the scholarship from time to time / whenever deemed

Selection of Candidates
The criteria for selection of candidates for the scholarships will be based on
academic merit, financial need and socio-economic background as well as
excellence in extracurricular activities. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by
the Scholarship Selection Committee at the IMU.
Good Command of Languages
All IMU students are required to have a good command of English. In addition, IMU
students are expected to be fluent in Bahasa Malaysia because they have to function
effectively as students, and later as doctors, pharmacists and nurses.
Extra-Curricular Achievements
The candidate should present documented evidence (awards and other certificates)
of co-curricular activities, leadership qualities, achievements in the fine arts or other
forms of creativity. Proven commitment to social work or uniformed organisations will
be an advantage.
Socio-Economic Background
The applicant must provide evidence that he / she is unable to afford a medical /
pharmacy / nursing education at the IMU. Documented evidence of the income of
parents or guardian must be provided.
A certified copy of the parents’ Income Tax Form must be submitted together with the
application. Where this is not available, equivalent documents must be submitted i.e.
If parents are government servants, they would have to fill in the “Borang Akuan
Ketua Jabatan” form or if parents are non-government servants, the documents must
be endorsed by a notary or legal person.
Character and Personality
A confidential report is required from each of two referees (one academic, who has
taught the candidate in the last two years of the high school / university and one who
has known the candidate socially in the last 5 years). In addition, a confidential report
is also required from the Head of the previous educational institution(s).
Other Factors
If there are any special circumstances which may be helpful to the candidate’s
application, please provide written or documented evidence.

Five scholarships are offered to students who have completed the certificate
course with Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia Level 2 at Monfort Boys Town.
 Applicants must be recommended by the Principal of Montfort Boys Town.

Eligibility
To be eligible for Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS), applicants must fit the
following criteria: Not older than 45 years of age during application.
 Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0
at Bachelor Degree Level for Master’s Degree applicants and for PhD
candidates must possess CGPA 3.5/4.0 or very good result at Master’s degree
level in a similar field of intended PhD study. In addition, for post-doctoral
programmes, the selection will be evaluated based on the number of books
produced, refereed/non refereed journals, portfolio and patent copyright. The
Post-Doctoral candidate must have excellent reputation in research and
possesses knowledge related to the research to be carried out.

b) TOEFL paper-based test with a score of at least 580 or computer-based

Field of Study
Five successful applicants will be awarded a postgraduate scholarship at the world's
most prestigious universities to pursue a course in Life Sciences and Engineering,
Medicine, Business and Management Studies, Law and Government Studies and
The Performing Arts.
Eligibility
1. Ideal applicants for Maxis Scholarship for Excellence must have already
gained admittance to a top US or UK university. Aged 30 years or below.
2. Achieved a minimum of a 2nd Class Upper Honours (or equivalent) degree
from a good university.
3. Have a minimum of three years working experience.
4. Have a strong appreciation and appetite for current affairs (for example, a
general knowledge of Malaysias constitutional and legal framework, economic
levers, government initiatives and nation building philosophies).

The financial aid is only open to new students & direct entry into the Diploma or Degree
programmess only (except Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering).

Applicants must attach ALL required documents before the application can be
considered for the financial aid. Failure to submit all documents as requested may
render the application null and void.

3.
Receipt of the items as stated in point 3 does not automatically warrant that the
financial aid has been awarded to the applicant.
4.
Once an applicant has indicated acceptance of the financial aid, he or she must enrol
as a full-time student for the entire length of the programmes(s) as stated in the letter of
offer.
5.
Student must meet the minimum entry requirements of the relevant programmes. This
scheme is not applicable for the Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
programmes.
6.
Student under scheme A & B are NOT required to top-up the difference between the
total fees (tuition, misc + resource fees) and the full amount (maximum loan) for the
programmes from PTPTN. eg. If the total fees if RM 24,480 and the FULL (maximum)
PTPTN loan is RM 20,000 - then the remaining RM4,480 is waived.
7.
Student under scheme C & D are REQUIRED to top-up any shortfall from any fees
even after the FULL (maximum) loan from PTPTN for the programmes is approved.
8.
Students are required to pay for the yearly insurance of RM 30 and 3 compulsory
courses at RM 600.
9.
The scheme is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash or other alternatives. In
the event a student decides to discontinue his or her studies, the scheme will be
forfeited and no refund (including the RM 600 application fee) in any form will be made.
10. Student MUST pay for their own accommodation unless eligible for free
accommodation assignment off-campus (subjected to availability).
11. The Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) loan cannot be
substituted with any other loan provider and it must be applied at the earliest possible
date at the point of application to the university. The computer-generated confirmation
slip MUST be given to the Office of Admission & Records (OAR) at the next working
day after the application to PTPTN is made. The student must make every effort to
ensure that the necessary documentation required by both Nilai University College and
PTPTN is provided at the required dates.
12. If the FULL (maximum) loan amount by the PTPTN for the programmes is less than the
total fees payable students MUST undertake to pay the differences (top-up) between
the total fees payable and the full loan amount by PTPTN from the 2nd semester
onwards as advised by the university - or unless, the student is eligible for waivers.
13. The decision to award the PTPTN loan is at the discretion of PTPTN. In the event of
the loan not being approved in FULL (or partial loan approved), students MUST then
undertake to pay any shortfall in fees.
14. The student MUST indicate that all payments from PTPTN are to be made directly to
the university. Any disbursement from PTPTN directly into the student's account must
be paid in full to Nilai UC within ONE (1) week of receipt of funds from PTPTN.
15. Students must abide by ALL the PTPTN rules and regulations - including achieving a
minimum CGPA ≥ 2.0 every semester (or minimum CGPA ≥ 2.5 for those under the

EFL Award) for the maintenance of the loan. If the PTPTN loan is discontinued for any
reason, students are required to pay all fees chargeable.
16. Students MUST take the FULL load every semester and finish the programmes within
the standard duration. The scheme covers the first-take of tuition fees only, and the
cost of re-sits and re-takes must be borne by the student.
17. The scheme cannot be offered in conjunction with any other discounts and offers
(except for the Enrichment for Life (EFL) Award) at the university. At all times,
applicants / students are entitled to accept ONE (1) discount (or scholarship) scheme
only at the university.
18. All recipients of this scheme are required to:- Contribute their time to assist the university in marketing and promotional activities,
peer counselling, extra-curricular activities and other administrative work as notified by
Nilai University College;
- To be a student of good conduct at all times.
19. The university reserves the right to involve the recipients of this scheme in interviews,
advertisement, photography or other publicity activities for the purpose of promoting the
university as a leading educational institution. All product/s of these activities are the
copyright of the university and can be used without prior written or verbal permission.
20. The university reserves the right to decide on the number/ amount of students awarded
this scheme.
21. Nilai University College reserves the right to terminate the scheme if the student does
not abide by the terms and conditions mentioned above. In such event, the student
must reimburse the university immediately on the discounts given up to the termination
date.
22. The university reserves the rights to vary or reverse any decisions and/ or terms and
conditions relating to the discount scheme (or award) without prior written or verbal
notice. All decisions made by the management of Nilai University College on matters

scholarship before an offer of scholarship or award can be made. Applicants
who do not qualify will be automatically disqualified without prior verbal or
written notice.

considered for the scholarship or award. Failure to submit all documents
required may render the application null and void.

7. For official/actual results, applicants may only use the current year's results.
8. The scholarship/award is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash or
other alternatives, and it covers tuition fees only.
9. The provision of a single air-conditioned accommodation is subjected to
availability. If the air-conditioned room is not available, another room will be
allocated until the single air-conditioned room is available. (ONLY FOR NILAI
UC HIGH ACHIEVER SCHOLARHSIP AND NILAI UC EXTRA-CURRICULUM
EXCELLENCE AWARD).
10.
Students must take a "full-load" of subjects every semester. The
scholarship/award will be terminated upon completion of the normal prescribed
study period specified by Nilai University College.
11.
The scholarship/award is offered for the first take of tuition fees only.
12.
To sustain the scholarship/award, students must maintain the following
CGPA every semester:
- High Achievers Scholarship CGPA of 3.5
- Merit Scholarship CGPA of 3.0
- Extra-Curriculum Excellence Award CGPA of 2.5
- Enrichment for Life (EFL) Award CGPA of 2.5
- AND;
- Be certified active in extra-curricular activities, whether organized within or
outside the university during the duration of study at Nilai University College.

If a student fails to maintain the required score of CGPA, the
scholarship/award will be suspended in the following semester (with
immediate effect, with or without notification to the student). The student must
settle all fees in the semester where the award is suspended ("Suspended
Semester"). Should the student meet the academic requirements for the
Suspended Semester, the scholarship will be reinstated for the subsequent
semester (provided the Scholarship Scheme is still valid), failing which the
scholarship will be terminated. There will be no refund of fees for the
Suspended Semester. The student must settle all fees in the remaining
duration of study if he/ she choose to remain a Nilai University College
student.
14.
In the event a student decides to discontinue his or her studies, the
scholarship will be terminated immediately and the student is required to pay
back to the university the total sum of money that has been disbursed to
him/her by Nilai University College.
15.
The scholarship cannot be offered in conjunction with any other
discounts and offers at the University College. At all times, applicants/

16.

A. AUTOMATIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ALUMNI & FAMILY
Alumni Scholarship
Alumni who register at the University on full-time award bearing programmes, after
spending a period away from the University, are entitled to a scholarship of 10% of
the first year's tuition fee.
Alumni, who register at the University on full-time award bearing programmes,
moving straight from one degree to another, via Bachelors to Master’s or Master’s to
PhD (not MPhil upgrading to PhD) are entitled to the following scholarships.
 Those registering on Master’s Degrees will receive a 10% tuition fee
scholarship
 Those registering on PhD programmes will receive a 10% tuition fee
scholarship for every year of the PhD programmes (subject to satisfactory
progress)
Alumni scholarships are automatic on evidence of previous successfully completed
study at The University of Nottingham leading to an award have been provided.
Family Scholarship
A.
Children of alumni
Children of alumni who register full-time at the University for an Award bearing programmes
are entitled to a scholarship of 10% of the first year's tuition fee.
This scholarship is automatic once an application form has been completed and the evidence
provided of one of the parents being a Nottingham alumnus.
B.
Sibling Scholarship
Where siblings register full-time on award bearing programmess at the University, each
second and subsequent sibling is entitled to a scholarship of 10% of the first year's tuition
fee. The siblings need not be studying on programmess at the University at the same time
but may have registered some years apart.
This scholarship is automatic on evidence of the sibling relationship and each sibling being
registered on full-time award-bearing programmess.
C.
Spouse Scholarship
Spouses who register full-time at the University for award-bearing Courses are entitled to a
scholarship of 10% of the first year's tuition fees for one of the spouses.

This scholarship is automatic on evidence of the spouse relationship and of both spouses
being registered on full-time award-bearing programmess. It is not necessary for both
spouses to be studying at the same time to gain this award.
Alumni of Universitas 21 (U21) Institutions Scholarship
Alumni of Universitas 21 (U21) institutions who register at the University as full time
students on award bearing programmess are entitled to a scholarship of 10% of their
first year’s tuition fees.
This scholarship is automatic once an application form has been completed and
satisfactory evidence provided.

POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
All post-graduate taught courses offered in the Faculty are eligible for these
awards (excluding degrees offered by I-WHO and the MBA programmess).
From April 2012 the scholarships entitle applicants to a 25% reduction in the course
fees. Both Malaysian and non-Malaysian applicants are eligible.
The scholarships are valid for the entire duration of post-graduate taught degrees.

E. HIGH ACHIEVERS & DEAN'S SCHOLARSHIP
 The High Achievers’ Scholarships (HAS) are available on an automatic basis
to all academically-qualified students who are applying for entry onto the
Foundation and Undergraduate programmess at the University of Nottingham
Malaysia Campus.
Foundation Studies
A scholarship equivalent to 25% reduction of the tuition fee is automatically awarded
to all students who have obtained 7A’ s in their SPM/GCSE. There will also be
additional scholarships for students who:

reduction

achievers at the point of progression for each academic year, ie from:

This means that students who entered university without a High Achievers'

G. JAMES DYSON FOUNDATION ENGINEERING GRANT
First year engineering students at the Department of Mechanical Engineering
are invited to apply for the James Dyson Foundation Engineering Grant.The
James Dyson Foundation is dedicated to encouraging young people to think
differently, make mistakes, invent and realise their engineering potential. The

for engineering.
A grant of RM 48,000 will be awarded to two students with a passion for engineering.
The award will be disbursed over the course of the students’ four year study.

The PTPTN Education Loan Scheme was set up with the aim of providing education
loans to students pursuing their studies in local institutions of higher learning (IPT).
This loan will enable students to fully or partially pay their fees and their subsistence
for the duration of their study in the IPT. Thus, this scheme provides greater
opportunities to students to continue their tertiary education.
The scope of the PTPTN education loan facility is open to students pursuing studies
at the diploma, first degree, master, doctorate and professional courses levels in IPTs
established under the following acts:

Institut Teknologi MARA Act 1976
Private Higher Education Institutions Act 1996
Education Act 1996
Starting March 1st, 2007, students pursuing long distance or part-time studies in
IPT's at the diploma, first degree, master, doctorate and professional courses levels
are eligible to receive PTPTN education loan. However, the loan amount sponsored
is only for the education fees that has been placed by the IPT and must not exceed
maximum amount that's been stated in the PTPTN Circular Bil 2/2007.
Eligibility:





Malaysian citizens;
Not exceeding 45 years of age on date of application;
Passed Malaysia Certificate of Education (SPM) with credits in any 3
subjects;
Passed SPM for Community College Certificate and Polytechnic
Diploma graduates with CGPA 3.0 and above;
IPTA/IPTS/Polytechnic students must register to pursue courses
approved by the IPT Management Department (IPTA/IPTS)/Polytechnic
Management Department and Community College of the Ministry of
Higher Education;
•
IPTS students must obtained the Accreditation Certificate from the Malaysian
Qualifications Agency (MQA). The course and Accreditation Certificate approval period must
still be valid on the date of application;
•
All students must possess entry requirements determined by the Ministry of Higher
Education to pursue the course. For students with qualifications that differ from that

stipulated, verification that the said qualification is equivalent to the required qualification
must be obtained from departments or agencies specified as above;
•
The remaining period of study upon application must exceed one year; and
•
Have no other sponsor.
Loan Offer
The education loan offer will be awarded if the applicant fulfils the conditions and meets the
specified loan application procedure. A second loan offer will only be considered if an
applicant meets the following requirements:
•
Meets conditions and loan application procedure
•
Students who received education loans for their previous studies but failed to
complete their studies or received other forms of sponsorship can apply for a second loan to
continue their studies after the first loan has been duly settled.
•
Students who were offered education loans and successfully completed their previous
studies can apply for loans to further their education. Applications for the same level of
education will not be considered.
•
Consideration for the second loan is subject to availability of funds.
The approval for the loan period will be based on the current semester, i.e. when the
complete application is received by PTPTN. The loan offer is valid for only 1 month from the
date of approval. Should the loan agreement not be completed within this period, the offer
will be cancelled.
Loan Payment
•
Loan disbursement are different according to the type of institutions, level of studies
and courses, depending on the parents monthly income.
•
The loan payment is credited directly to the student’s account.
•
The first loan payment is released only after the completed agreement is received by
PTPTN.
•
Subsequent payments will be made after PTPTN receives confirmation from the IPT
that the student is successful in continuing studies and has obtained a GPA of 2.0 and
above.
Termination & Suspension of Loan
Loan payment will be terminated when students fail to continue their studies in their fields of
study or in the IPT specified during application for the loan. Students are required to repay
the amount obtained from PTPTN for the duration of their studies as specified in the loan
agreement. Appeals to defer payment or re-scheduling must be submitted to PTPTN if the
students cannot repay the amount borrowed.
The payment of loans will also be suspended for a particular semester for the following
reasons:

A student obtains a GPA of less than 2.0.

A student defers studies.
Repayment of Loan
The borrower is encouraged to pay back the loan without waiting for the letter of claim. The
period of loan repayment is based on the total loan taken as follows:

RM10,000 and below - 60 months
RM10,001 to RM22,000 - 120 months
RM22,001 to RM50,000 - 180 months
RM50,001 and above - 240 months
•
Administrative costs of 4% annually will be charged on the date of loan repayment up
to 31st December 2003. From 1st January 2004, the administrative cost is reduced to 3%
annually on the remaining monthly loan.
•
Administrative costs will be calculated 6 months after completion of study or
termination of loan as specified in the signed agreement. No reduction is given in
administrative cost.
•
Deferment of repayment can be considered for borrowers who continue their studies
or who are not yet working by submitting an application. However, administrative cost will be
charged during the period of deferment.
•
Administrative costs will be waived for full repayment of loan within 6 months.
•
Exemption of repayment will only be considered for borrowers who obtain first class
honours for loans approved prior to 1st July 2005 ONLY by submitting an application.

Criteria’s
 Scholarship recipients must represent SEGi University College in MAPCU
games or any other tournaments as and when required by the University
College.
 Scholarship recipients should at least pass with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and
maintain their sports achievement at the State and National level.
 Scholarship recipients are required to serve and contribute towards the
furtherance and promotion of sports activities at the University College, and
participate in Community Services such as conducting sports clinics.
 Scholarship only covers tuition fees, does not cover other fees chargeable and
external fees.

 Scholarship application must be sent at least one month before the

scholarship refundable in cash terms.
 SEGi University College reserves the right to revoke the said scholarship if the
recipient does not maintain discipline, attendance and good behaviour and/or
participates in criminal or tortuous acts of omissions.
 SEGi University College reserves the right to amend the policies and terms of
the scholarship without notice.
 All information furnished by the scholarship recipient must be true and correct
in all respects. In the event of any inaccurate or incorrect information
furnished, the scholarship is liable to be withdrawn without notice and in such

The Malaysian Association of Private Colleges & Universities (MAPCU) in

Eligibility
 Applicants must be Malaysian citizens.

The scholarship is offered strictly to full-time registered students at Sunway
University.
Offer of scholarship will only be made when the University receives the actual results.
Scholarship is awarded in the form of tuition fee waiver.
The Scholarship is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash.
The award will be terminated upon completion of the study period specified by
Sunway University.
Students receiving scholarships from other bodies are not eligible for this scholarship.
The final decision to grant a scholarship is at the sole discretion of the Scholarship
Committee of Sunway University.
English 1119 will not be considered when granting the scholarship.
All scholarship recipients must attend the scholarship ceremony to receive the
scholarship.
Students must meet the programmes entry point prior to be eligible for scholarship.
Sunway University reserves the right to change the Terms & Conditions of the
scholarships as and when required without prior notice.
Students receiving this scholarship are not eligible for the 10% continuous bursary.
This scholarship is only available to Sunway University students (Malaysian &
international) who have completed either Pre-University, Diploma or Foundation
programmes with Sunway University, Sunway College JB and Sunway College Ipoh.
The tuition fee waiver will be implemented from the 1st semester of the programmes
onwards.
Scholars are required to reapply for the continuation of the scholarship through their
programmes offices on a yearly basis.
There shall be no upgrading of scholarships.
Decision on continuation of the scholarship is at the sole discretion of the Head of

The Tan Sri Dato' (Dr) Loy Hean Heong Merit Scholarship was launched in 1993. The
scholarships are awarded to students enrolled at Taylor's College who had excelled in the
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or GCE O Level examinations. Since then, the scholarship
scheme has benefited over 9,300 students with a total value of more than RM45 million.

The TEG Students Bursary are awarded to students that have completed their
studies at Taylor’s sister institutions (secondary schools) within one (1) year of the
graduation date. Successful applicants are entitled to a onetime fee deduction of
RM1,500 for their Pre-U studies.

UNIRAZAK SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Universiti Tun Abdul Razak Scholarship Award is funded by a grant from Universiti Tun
Abdul Razak. It was established to provide outstanding students with appropriate
financial assistance to complete their undergraduate education at Universiti Tun Abdul
Razak.
Currently, Universiti Tun Abdul Razak allocates 10 scholarships to qualified students.
Successful applicants are entitled to tuition waiver starting from the commencement
date of the Award until the completion of their studies subject to the Scholarship terms
and conditions.

With CGPA of not less than 3.50 with a credit load of between 36 to 90 credit hours

The Award will entitle the recipient to a fixed tuition fee waiver for every semester,
until completion of his/her study.
For Full Time Student Recipient
Tuition fee waiver shall be calculated in the following manner:

UTAR SCHOLARSHIPS
Introduction
The purpose of the UTAR Scholarship/Loan is to provide financial assistance to deserving
and needy students of the University.
Criteria for Selection
Consideration for the Scholarship/Loan will be based on the following criteria:

Regulations
Applications shall be made on prescribed forms and shall be submitted to the Division of
Examinations, Awards and Scholarships. Applicants should not concurrently hold any other
scholarship, loan or financial aid.
•
Each Scholarship/Loan shall be subjected to review by the University on a
Trimester/Semester basis.
•
The University shall be entitled to make such enquiries into an applicant's financial
standing as is deemed necessary. An applicant must name two referees who are not related
to him and who will be able to report on the applicant financial circumstances and character.
•
Each applicant must have the consent of his parent or guardian.
•
Successful applicants will be required to enter into an agreement with the University.
Two referees approved by the University are required for each applicant.
Others
•
The University reserves the right to withdraw the Scholarship/Loan at any time should
the University find that the information given by the students is untrue or incorrect. In this
instance, the amount of the Scholarship/Loan disbursed shall be repaid immediately.
•
In the event of any misconduct of the said Scholarship/Loan recipient resulting in
penalties/punishment from the University's Disciplinary Board, the Scholarship/Loan will
automatically be withdrawn.

Generous scholarships and awards are provided each year by DISTED to encourage
the development of a relevant, excellent and complete ambience in the college
leading to graduates with the desired attributes to serve industry and community.
The Wawasan Education Foundation and Yeap Chor Ee Charitable Trust are
instrumental in providing significant funding to achieve the mission. The awards are
based on merit which encompasses both academic as well as socio-economic
background of the applicants.
General Criteria and Conditions
1. The scholarships are open only to Malaysians who sat for the relevant
examinations in 2011 and must be new or commencing students of the programmess
of study.
2. Application and award of the scholarships is based on actual examination results
and, where applicable, verification of financial needs of applicants. All fees must be
paid in the interim.
3. All scholarships are only tenable for the period of study at DISTED in Penang and
recipients are not allowed to hold 2 DISTED scholarships concurrently.
4. The scholarships can only be utilised to defray the fees for the programmess of
study. It is not transferable and not redeemable for cash.
5. The scholarship award will take effect only after signing of the agreement and
should the recipient withdraw from the programmes of study prematurely for
whatever reasons, the scholarship will not be valid and the recipient is required to
refund to the college the amount of the scholarship that has been disbursed and pay
all outstanding fees due to the college.
6. Recipients must be prepared to serve the college as follows if required: Certificate,
Diploma and Honour scholarship holders - 3 hours per week; Degree scholarship
holders - 6 hours per week. Failure to fulfill this requirement can result in the
termination or nullification of the scholarship.
7. Applicants whose total family income is less than RM3,000 a month and wish to
seek additional support for their study are required to declare their family incomes by
furnishing income tax form B/BE/EA/EC or other verifiable documents. Such
applicants will be required to attend a scholarship selection interview to determine
the merit of each case.
8. All decisions of the DISTED Scholarship Board on scholarship quantum and
conditions are final and binding.
