The Ga. State Patrol said, a Honda Civic driven by Thomas Robert Dubey was traveling south when he failed to maintain his lane and traveled off the west edge of the road and struck a guardrail. The driver then overcorrected and caused the car to travel back across the road going off the east edge of the road striking another guardrail. After striking the guardrail the vehicle traveled across the road striking the bridge rail causing the car to overturn. Dubey was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center. There were no charges. ♦ SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR NEEDY KIDS Needy Bartow County residents with children are urged to sign up for Bartow Give A Kid A Chance. To participate you must register online by July 19th at www.bartowgiveakidachance.com. This years event will be held at the Bartow College and Career Academy, 738 Grassdale Rd. (old Cass High). The event will provide children in need with free school supplies, backpacks, T-Shirts, haircuts, hearing, vision and dental screenings. Students and parents or guardians must both attend the event to receive services. A deputy asked him what he was doing, the suspect, Lane Alan Gann said "I was just looking around." The deputy told him to ride the motorized cart back to the store. The store manager said motorized shopping carts are not allowed outside the store. Gann was taken to the Bartow Co. Jail and charged with theft of a shopping cart and criminal trespass. The cart is worth $1,000. ♦ Zep, Inc. will pay $905,000 to resolve EPA allegations its subsidiary sold an unregistered pesticide, sold a misbranded pesticide and submitted false compliance certification statements. Zep neither admitted or denied the EPA's allegations. The EPA claimed Zep sold "Formula 165" between April 21, 2010 and January 6, 2012. ♦ The American Bar Association said it's ethical for lawyers to scan publicly available social media accounts for information on potential jurors.
