Foreign Language Department Chairperson at Carroll Senior High School

Review algebra and geometry concepts targeted
on the SAT & PSAT
Learn test-taking strategies
Practice on actual SAT & PSAT problems
SAT/PSAT Critical Reading
Learn to focus, think, and question while reading a
passage, raising comprehension level
Learn test-taking strategies applicable to sentence
completion and passage-based questions
Practice on SAT & PSAT passages and questions
SAT/PSAT Writing
Review targeted grammar concepts
Learn to recognize errors in grammar, punctuation,
usage, and sentence structure
Learn how to write the SAT essay and fine tune
editing skills
Practice on actual SAT & PSAT questions
Developmental Vocabulary
Learn root words, prefixes, suffixes
Add words from SAT/PSAT “hit list” to vocabulary
Practice using new knowledge, strategies, and
context clues to answer vocabulary questions
After Course
Invitation to Boot Campers to attend free 3-hour
refresher sessions provided before the PSAT &
SAT in October and before the May SAT.
Suggestions to help students continue to sharpen
test-taking skills
Meeting with parent group on July 21 at 1:15 p.m.
