COURSE DESCRIPTION:
DESCRIPTION:
This course is an introduction to the morphology, physiology and taxonomy of bacteria,
parasites, fungi, and viruses. This course includes the study of disease transmission,
response to infection and microbial control.

CLASS POLICIES:
REQUIREMENTS:
Students must attend every lecture period. Students must be on time for lecture, as it
will begin at the designated start time. It is the student’s responsibility to acquire any
notes, handouts, quizzes, announcements, etc., given during a day of absence. If the
student knows he/she will be absent on the day of an exam, it is the student’s
responsibility to inform the instructor beforehand. No eating, drinking, or smoking in
lecture. Cellular phone and beeper usage is discouraged, as it is very intrusive to the
instructor and class.
TESTS:
You have two weeks from the day of the test to review your grade!
MAKEMAKE-UP POLICY
In the event of a missed scheduled test for the first time, the STUDENT must contact the
instructor within the first two days to review your eligibility for a makeup test. If a second
or more tests are missed, the recorded grade will be a zero.
