required-Business Driven Information Systems by Paige and Baltzan, McGraw Hill, 5th edition
isbn 978-0-07-340298-7;
web address for supplements is found at www.mhhe.com/Baltzan. Choose Business Driven Technology, 6th edition
[which is different from the book we are using. ]The web site is for the data files. Data files are found by choosing
student edition and then Apply Your Knowledge data files. All assignments , other than these files will be from the 5th
edition, Business riven Information Systems.
strongly recommended: Wall Street Journal. Discount available for about $15 for 15 weeks.
Example of a typical week:
Each week you will have assignment(s). Point value varies from 0 to 10. Assignments are sent in Word only,
from the Blackboard "Assignments” section or gmail or google+ depending on the assignment .
Credit: To get full credit, you need to send them via a word attachment, through bb, by 11:30pm, the date due.
After that you get 0 credit . You will see an ! after the assignment is sent in. After graded the ! will change to a grade.
Points are deducted if late or you have more than 2 spelling errors. I may modify assignments during the semester and
give you sufficient notice on bb and time to complete them.
Expectations of Performance:
1.You are expected to read the chapters
2. Log on to Blackboard, each day, check for new "Announcements" regarding assignments.
3. Save your assignments on a flash drive. You may think hw was sent, but it may not have been received.
4. Assignments need to be submitted on time, 11:30pm.
5. Any missing grades/discrepancies need to be addressed to me w/in the due date week. Otherwise, it is a 0.
6. Assignments will be graded on form, which includes spelling, punctuation and grammar.

8. Feedback: I will try to respond by email to inquiries within 24 hours of the time I receive your email,
except for weekends (48 hours). E-mail me if you would like to schedule an in-person meeting.
Grading: The following scheme is used for your letter grade: A: 93-100%; A-: 90-92%; B+: 87-89%; B: 84-86%;
B-: 80-83%; C+: 77-79%; C: 74-76%; C-: 70-73%; D+: 67-69%; D: 64-66%; D-: 60-63%; F: <60% .
