in a presidential year. Workshops will introduce you to

About The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans
“Sentimentalists that we are, we were deeply sad
to see the venerable Maison Blanche department
store go the way of Woolworth’s, D.H. Holmes,
and other Canal Street shopping landmarks. But
for the city’s sake, we are pleased to have the
Ritz-Carlton take its place, preserving the
classic, glazed terra-cotta building and bringing
high-end luxury to the Quarter. Service is
sterling. Rooms are light green, purple, and gold
in tribute to New Orleans and have lovely beds.
King rooms are nicer than doubles, while rooms
on the 12th, 14th, and 15th floors are the largest

and fancy coffee and tea service in a cleverly
designed wooden box. The whole effect is most gracious (even more so at the hotel’s Club Level,
which includes five food presentations a day plus complimentary drinks). . . . The spa is one of the
two best in town (along with the Guerlain), and though undeniably expensive, it’s gorgeous and the
treatments are utter perfection; the fitness center is open 24 hours. Look for fun site-specific events
in the courtyard, like crawfish boils and voodoo ceremonies. The entire hotel is nonsmoking.”
Facilities:
Restaurant; 2 bars; concierge; complimentary access to health club (w/resistance pool, Jacuzzi, and
personal trainers); room service; top-of-the-line spa; Wi-Fi (free).
