Notes on Degree Requirements for Majors
1. All General Education courses are at the 1000-level.
2. General Education courses should be completed within the first 48 credits taken.
3. All approved General Education courses may count for General Education credit; some may count for
major or minor credit; none may count for both.
4. A maximum of 36 General Education credits will count towards the degree.

6. York residence requirement: a minimum of 30 credits including at least 50% of the major must be
completed at York.
7. Cumulative GPA: to proceed in good standing, a minimum Cumulative GPA of 4.0 is needed.
