EXTENDED STAY AMERICA HOTELS PARTNERS WITH FOOD NETWORK’S
SUNNY ANDERSON TO PRESENT “AWAY FROM HOME COOKING” COOKBOOK
National hotel chain invites travelers to see what’s cooking in 76,000 in-room kitchens
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Oct. 28, 2013 – Extended Stay America (ESA), the largest
company-owned and operated hotel chain with kitchens in every hotel room, announces
a partnership with Food Network’s Sunny Anderson to present “Away From Home
Cooking” – an on-the-go cookbook featuring 24 super simple recipes that deliver the
comforting taste of home wherever the road leads, from vacation homes and college
dorms to campsites and even first-time apartment rentals. Beginning October 2013,
Extended Stay America’s 76,000 guestrooms will feature Sunny’s tips for tasty and easyto-prepare homecooked meals when on the road, with additional resources available
online at www.AwayFromHomeCooking.com.
“From growing up an Army brat to traveling the country in search of local flavors, I’m
familiar with life on the road, which is why I’m thrilled to team up with Extended Stay
America to create the ‘Away From Home Cooking’ resource,” says Sunny Anderson.
When I hit the road, I choose ESA as my home-away-from-home since I can always
count on welcoming staff and a comfortable room with a kitchen to test a recipe or whip
up my favorite meal.”
Sunny’s culinary experience inspires 11 exclusive recipes found in Extended Stay
America’s “Away From Home Cooking” booklet. From North Carolina Braised Ribs and
Philly Cheesesteak Rice Bowl, to recipes contributed by ESA associates, including
Hearty Chicken Noodle Soup and Triple Burger Chili, homecooking goes mobile by
utilizing simple methods, ingredients and utensils found in the Extended Stay America
hotel room.
Extended Stay America kitchens are complete with a full-size refrigerator, two-burner
stovetop, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker, plus cooking utensils, dishes and cutlery,
providing the option to dine-in instead of the usual choices of delivery and carry-out.
“A good meal after a long day of travel helps guests feel at home while on the road,
which is why we’re proud to partner with Sunny Anderson as we bring to life ‘Away From
Home Cooking’,” says Terry Atkins, senior director of marketing communications at ESA.
