The Center’s Orientation Program at a Glance Our orientation program is designed to assist you—as an incoming international student—adjust to life in the United States and at Rutgers. The program covers a wide range of topics in a variety of different formats over the period of a week, and provides flexiblyscheduled opportunities every day to help you become familiar with your new surroundings, to settle academic and administrative matters, to learn about the many resources and services available to you at Rutgers, and —just as important to the adjustment process—to begin forming friendships with other new and returning international students. The personalized environment of our program allows you to interact closely and regularly with members of our energetic and enthusiastic team of trained student volunteers, and to learn from their experiences. Throughout the week you will also have frequent contact with Global Services staff members, all of whom participate in various orientation program sessions and events.
