CLE and CEU Information Setting Your Registration Fee – It is important to know what the fees and requirements are before setting your registration fees for Professionals. If you intend to offer credits, you must decide on the pricing structure. * Will you charge an extra fee (over and above the registration fee)? * Will you charge a professional fee, which includes the cost of credits? * Or will you have the registrant pay out of their own pocket for credits? CLE – Continuing Legal Education (attorney credits) The application, application fee and submission procedures vary for each state. If you are interested in providing CLE credits for attorneys, please answer number 7 on the info sheet. I will provide you with your state’s requirements and your sponsor obligations. * I submit the packet of information to your State Bar. Documents to include: accreditation application, timed agenda, speakers bio, table of contents of course textbooks (Wrightslaw: Special Education Law, 2nd Edition, Wrightslaw: From Emotions to Advocacy, 2nd Edition, Wrightslaw: All About IEPs and Wrightslaw: All About Tests and Assessments) a copy of your Wrightslaw conference page, and a notification of approval from a previous Wrightslaw conference held in your state. If there is an application fee, Harbor House Law Press, Inc. will pay the fee when the application is submitted. This fee will be added to your final summary. * I specify on my cover letter that the notification of approval be sent to my office, but most times the approval notice is received by the sponsor. If this happens, please email or fax a copy to me. Once the approval is received I will revise your conference page to reflect the amount of credits. CEU – Continuing Education Unit (educator credits) The CEU's are provided by the University of Missouri-Kansas City Division of Continuing Education in the School of Education (UMKC). They provide both graduate credit for practicing teachers and CEU’s for a variety of professionals who need to document their professional development hours. The cost for a one-day/6 hour conference is $12.00 per attendee, $24.00 for a two-day/12 hour conference. * I submit the application online to University of Missouri-Kansas City Division of Continuing Education (UMKC). The UMKC representative will send you a detailed email to include a course proposal form, a blank record form and a participant sign-in form. You must sign the ceu course proposal form, and snail mail (original cannot be emailed) back to UMKC. Once the signed course proposal is received by UMKC, it is considered approved and can be added to your conference page.
