All equipment with speed readout: Treadmills, Cycles, Ellipticals, Cross Trainers,

This procedure gives a basic overview of the MPH / KPH function, the 3 methods used
on SportsArt equipment for changing the measurement units between MPH / KPH, and
step-by-step instructions on how to change the measurement units on each type and
model of equipment.

A common issue with all equipment is that the speed seems slow. For example, at
speed 5 the unit feels to operate at speed 3. Usually there’s nothing wrong with the
equipment; a user has accidentally switched the speed/distance unit mode from MPH
to KPH.
Speed/distance units are changed in one of three ways: (1) by pressing a sequence of
keys on the unit; (2) by moving a jumper on the display PC board; (3) by the software,
which is put in place when the unit is shipped from the factory.

1. Turn on unit power. Put safety key in place. “SELECT MODE USER1-USER4” appears. Do not
press SPEED  or  key. Press MODE  or  key to select a USER number, then
press ENTER key.
2. “SELECT MODE   MPH/KPH” appears. “MPH” or “KPH” appears. Press MODE  or  key
to select MPH or KPH. Press ENTER key to confirm your choice.
3. ”ENTER WEIGHT” appears. A weight appears. Press  or  key to select your weight.
Press ENTER key to confirm your choice. Follow prompts for IRC control.
1. Press MANUAL/SET key. “MAN’L” appears. Press MANUAL/SET key again. “SET” appears.
Press ENTER key.
2. “MALE/FEMALE” appears. Press  or  key to select MALE or FEMALE. Press ENTER key to
confirm your choice.
3. “MPH” or “KPH” appears. Press  or  key to select MPH or KPH. Press ENTER key to
confirm your choice.
4. “ENTER WEIGHT” appears. A weight appears in 4 seconds. Press  or  key to select your
weight. Press ENTER key to confirm your choice.
1. Press MANUAL/SET key until “SET” appears. Press ENTER key.

The MPH/KPH adjustment is made by switching a jumper connection on the rear of the display
board.
Determined by the IC chip. All IC chips in this market use American standard units, MPH.
1. Turn on unit. “SPORTSART” scrolls. “6310/6320” appears. Hold the CHANGE key for three
seconds.
2. “PRESS  TO SELECT MPH/KPH, PRESS ENTER” scrolls. “MPH” or “KPH” appears. Press
 or  key to select KPH or MPH. Press ENTER to confirm your choice.
3. “PRESS  TO SELECT MODIFY HRC TARGET HR (Y/N)?, PRESS ENTER” scrolls. “NO” or
“YES” appears. Press  or  key to select your target heart rate. Press ENTER key to confirm
your selection.
1. Remove SAFETY KEY press DISPLAY CHANGE key for 3 seconds, program versions for
display and drive boards are shown, press ENTER to show MPH or KPH
2. Press incline  or  keys to select unit preference, then press ENTER to confirm your choice.
Follow prompts to show distance or press STOP to end and return to SAFETY KEY display.
1. Turn on the unit. While the startup banner appears, hold the CHANGE key for three seconds.
2. Press incline  or  keys to select unit preference, then press ENTER to confirm your choice.
1. Turn unit on. While the startup banner appears, hold the “DISPLAY CHANGE” key for three
seconds. “UNIT-MPH” or “UNIT-KPH” appears.
2. Press incline  or  keys to select unit preference, then press ENTER to confirm your choice.
Follow prompts to see time and software versions.

2. Press  or  keys (display left, under ENTER key only, not lower keypad incline and speed
keys) to select unit preference, then press ENTER to confirm your choice. Follow prompts to
see Distance, Time, TFT IC (680 only), CTL IC and DRV IC.

1. Start exercising on unit. Display shows model number. Simultaneously press and hold LEVEL
and LEVEL keys three seconds. HR window shows “NO” or “YES”. “PRESS TO SELECT
MODIFY HRC TARGET HR, PRESS ENTER“ scrolls. “MDFY” appears. Press LEVEL 
or LEVEL key to select your choice. Press ENTER to confirm your choice.
2. “PRESS TO SELECT LB/KG” scrolls. “LB” or “KG” appears. Press LEVEL  or LEVEL key
to select your choice. Press ENTER to confirm your choice.
1. While startup screen is visible, hold the ENTER key for three seconds. MPH or KPH appears.
Press up/down keys to toggle. Press ENTER to confirm your choice.
1. The MPH/KPH adjustment is made by switching a jumper connection on the rear of the display

1. Pedal to start. While startup screen is visible, hold the CHANGE key for three seconds. UNIT –
LB or UNIT – KG appears. Press  keys to toggle. Press the ENTER key to confirm your
choice.
1. Pedal and don’t press other keys. Hold the ENTER key three seconds. KPH or MPH appears.
2. Press  keys to toggle to KPH or MPH setting.
3. Press ENTER key to confirm your choice. Press ENTER key to see Distance, Time, and CTL
IC.

1. The E82/E820 MPH / KPH adjustment is made by changing two dip-switch settings on the rear
of the display board. (See Illustration #3, below)

1. Start exercising and don’t press any other keys. At start up screen, simultaneously
press
LEG Work Level  keys.
2. Dot matrix display shows MDFY. Heart rate window shows YES or NO. Press  keys to
toggle. Choose YES. Press ENTER to confirm your choice.
3. KG or LB appears in the dot matrix screen. Press  keys to toggle. Press the ENTER key to
confirm your choice.
1. When the startup screen appears, press the START key. The USER indicator flashes.
2. Simultaneously press WORKOUT LEVEL ▼ and WORKOUT LEVEL▲ keys for three seconds.
Time and distance windows show total distance as eight digits. Units appear as MILE or KM.
Press the ENTER key to proceed.
3. Time and distance windows show total time as four digits. "HOUR" appears in the workout
profile window. Press the ENTER key to proceed.
4. Press WORKOUT LEVEL? or WORKOUT LEVEL▲ to toggle between "LB" and "KG”. Press the
ENTER key to return to the start up screen.
In this setting, press the STOP/HOLD TO RESET key at any time to return to the start up
screen.
1. Press MANUAL/SET key. “MAN’L” appears. Press MANUAL/SET key again. “SET” appears.
Press ENTER key.
2. “SELECT METER OR FEET” appears. Press + or -- key to select METER or FEET.

to confirm your choice and to see the next setting. You may also press STOP to leave this
setting.
