The mission of the UCSC STARS Veterans Education Team Support (VETS) Program is providing transitional services for American Office of Physical Education, Recreation & Sports heroes who lack traditional support structures. Bringing together campus and community Office of the Registrar resources around a team of experienced fellow veteran peer mentors has proven to be a successful Office of Undergraduate Education model for reaching and empowering student veterans in Santa Cruz. It was inspired by veterans Ombudsman Office participating in a student focus group conducted in response to California’s Troops to College initiative.
