Interdisciplinary Learning
Interdisciplinary Learning is believed to support greater coherence in
learning, motivate pupils with interesting and relevant contexts, help link
learning and enable the application of skills and strategies in different
settings/curricular areas ie. Literacy, numeracy, aspects of Health and
Well-being and use of information technology.
Your child will be participating in the interdisciplinary theme, ‘World War
Two’ at some point during the next few weeks. Please use this Pupil
Support Sheet for Parents to encourage them in their learning.

By the end of this theme your child should know about –
The main events in the lead up to the war.
The outbreak of war.
The famous leaders in WW2.
The function and purpose of gas masks.
How popular wartime songs were intended to lift spirits.
The Blitz.
Evacuation.
Rationing and Dig for Victory campaigns.
