Dezember 2012 um 19:37 Why you should read this: If you own an OEM licensed pc (factory pre-installed), you will sometime not be able to fetch licensing information and certificates if you want to perform a clean installation. Here are few steps to activate Windows if you do not know the OEM Key. This document focuses on SLIC v 2.1... Your BIOS must support it. If not, please flash / upgrade your BIOS. Contact vendor for more information. First, you need to download this tool SLIC Toolkit 3.2. This will scan and display the SLIC table in your BIOS. Even without a key, you CAN validate the product so do not worry! Now you have the product key. Its time to backup the key and certificate. Click "Backup" and then it will save the text file and certificate. Important! Certificate ends with Cert.xrm-ms Now you have both the cert and key. So you can use either one. To backup the token, open the path of "Cert". Open the first portion: X:\Windows\ServiceProfile (if you are prompted to use Administrative Elevation, click the button and commit the action. Replace X with root partition. i.e. C). Now, go until you see the NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform. Now, within this folder, you will see the "tokens.dat". You can backup this as well. To save all the information as a .bin file, click "Save" button. Use "Refresh" button to refresh the data. Additional info: BIOS Diag information can be saved as a .MEM file. Click Click "Diagnose" to perform the action. Note: If you wish to open an existing certificate, click "Open Ext. Cert." button.
