The Pan-India vacancies indicated above are only tentative and actuals may vary. As of now, the
vacancies are substantially in Western and Southern Zones as compared to East and Northern Zones of
the Country. The candidates cannot have any right or preference for posting in any particular State of his
choice as the selection and posting is on All India basis. The company‟s decision would be final in all
these cases and the candidates are liable to be posted anywhere across the Country.
(2) Eligibility conditions: (As on 31.12.2012)
(A) Qualifications: Graduation with 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) or Post Graduation with minimum
55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate from recognised University.
Note:
(i)

duly approved by UGC / AICTE as the case may be with appropriate pattern like 10+2+3 or its

(ii) Other things being equal, preference will be given to candidates having post qualification

Basic pay in the scale of Rs.17240/-840(14)-29000-910(4)-32640 and other admissible allowances as

(6) Service Conditions:
As applicable in the Company from time to time. Posts are permanent and the selected candidates on
appointment may be posted or transferred to any place in India as may be decided by the Company.

(7) Selection Procedure:
The selection would be in two stages ie., On line Multiple Choice Objective Type test and Descriptive
Test. All the candidates who applied and are eligible as per criteria prescribed for the post shall undergo
objective type test to be conducted tentatively on 26.5.2013 through on line. The Descriptive Test on
English, précis writing and Letter writing would be conducted based on the objective test marks in the
descending order upto a maximum of about six times the vacancies of the respective categories. The
qualified candidates of the on line objective test may be called for descriptive test in selected State
Capitals (subject to sufficiency of candidates in the centres) in about 2 to 3 weeks from the date of
declaration of results of on line objective test.
A candidate shall be required to qualify in descriptive test, but the marks in descriptive paper shall not
count for final selection. The finally qualified candidates will be called for interview upto three times the
vacancies of the respective categories and final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the
on line objective test and interview. Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed to and
fro second class rail fare/bus fare by the shortest route from the station of residence to the place of
interview on production of evidence of having undertaken journey for interview purpose.

All the questions will be of objective type with five alternative choices out of which one will be the
correct answer. The candidate has to select the correct answer and „mouse click‟ that
alternative which he/she feels is correct. There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked by
the candidates. For each wrong answer marked one fourth of the marks assigned to the question
will be deducted from those obtained. The alternative/option that is clicked on will be highlighted
and will be treated as the answer to that question.
(8) Examination Centres :
Competitive written examination will be held at specific centres in India. The candidates may choose any
one of the centres mentioned in Annexure I which must be indicated in the application form clearly. No
change of the centre will be allowed at a later date. Company reserves the right to direct candidates to
appear at a centre other than the one chosen by them for written examination without monetary
assistance. Company reserves the right to hold the written examination at some and not all the
examination centres listed in annexure I depending upon the number of candidates and other relevant
factors. Appearing in the written exam will not automatically confirm any right of being selected for the
above said posts.
(9) Probation:
Selected candidates if certified to be medically fit, may be appointed as ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
(SCALE-I) on probation for a period of one year which may be extended by a further period of six months.
The Company reserves the right to terminate the service of the candidate if found unsuitable at any time
during the probationary period or the extended probationary period without any notice or assigning any
reason thereof. During the probationary period, candidates may be required to undergo theoretical /
practical training as may be prescribed / arranged for them.

(10) Guarantee Bond:
The selected candidates will be required to give an undertaking along with appropriate monetary or
financial guarantee to serve the Company for a minimum period of four years including probationary
period. The details of guarantee and relevant terms would be intimated later.
(11) How to Apply:
1.
Candidates are required to apply Online through website www.uiic.co.in No other means/
mode of application will be accepted.
2. Candidates are required to have a valid personal email ID. It should be kept active during the
currency of this recruitment. The company may send call letters for written test, interview etc.
through the registered email ID. Under no circumstances, he/she should share/ mention
email ID to/ or of any other person. Candidates can also download their call letters from the
website by logging in using their application number and date of birth. Call letters will be
uploaded on the website about two weeks before the date of written examination.
3. In case, a candidate does not have a valid personal email ID, he/she should create his/ her new
email ID before applying Online.
Applicants are first required to go to the UIIC‟s website www.uiic.co.in and open the link
'Recruitment'. Thereafter, open the Recruitment Notification entitled „UIIC ADMINISTRATIVE
OFFICERS RECRUITMENT – 2012-13'
4. The candidate is required to keep the details about bio-data ready to enable him/her to fill
up the application form correctly. The name of the candidate or his/her father/husband etc.
should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets.
Payment of Application Fee/service Charges has to be done after successful registration
of the application else application will be treated as cancelled.
5. Before applying online a candidate will be required to have a scanned(digital) image of his/her
photograph and signature as per the specifications given in Annexure-II.
6. Choice of Examination City: Candidates should indicate the Name of the Examination City in the
appropriate column of the online Application form. No change of Examination City will be
permissible at a later date. The Company, for administrative reasons, however, reserves the right
to direct the candidate to appear for online examination at any City other than the one chosen by
the candidate.
7. In the event of not being able to fill the data in one go, the candidate can save the data already
entered. When the data is saved, registration number and password will be generated by the
system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the registration number and
password. Email and SMS indicating the Registration Number and Password will be sent.
Candidates can reopen the saved data using Registration Number and Password and edit the
particulars, if needed. This facility will be available for three times in all. Once the application is
filled completely, the candidate should submit the data. In case of Offline payment,
candidates should take a printout of the system generated fee payment challan
immediately. No change/alteration will be allowed thereafter. The registration at this stage
is provisional.
8. Payment of Application Fee/service Charges
A. Off line Payment:
In case of Offline Payment of Application Fee/service Charges, the payment will be accepted
from 2nd working day after the on-line registration and can be made within three working days
thereafter at any branch of State Bank of India by cash only. System generated payment
challan will be used for depositing the amount. Once the amount is paid, the registration process
will be complete. Candidates should ensure State Bank of India Branch Code, Journal Number
along with Branch Seal on the Candidate‟s copy of the Challan. Candidates are advised to
preserve the payment challan with them for reference and use in future.
B. Online Payment:
i)
Candidates should carefully fill in the details in the Online Application at the appropriate
places very carefully and click on the “SUBMIT” button at the end of the Online

Application Format. Before pressing the “SUBMIT” button, candidates are advised to
verify every field filled in the application especially with regard to spellings.
ii)
The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process
can be completed by following the instructions therein.
iii)
Payment can be made by using only Master/Visa Debit or Credit Cards or Internet
Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
iv)
In case candidates wish to pay fees/service charges through the online payment
gateway after the upload of photograph and signature an additional page of the
application form is displayed wherein candidates may follow the instructions and fill in
the requisite details.
v)
If the online transaction has been successfully completed, a Registration Number and
Password will be generated which shall be preserved by the candidate for future
reference.
vi)
If the online transaction has not been successfully completed, then the following
message is displayed “Your online transaction was unsuccessful. Please register
again”. Candidates may then revisit the “Apply Online” link and fill in their application
details again. In case of unsuccessful registration the amount of fees debited will be
refunded to the account in due course.
vii) On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated. Candidates
are required to take a printout of the e-receipt.
viii) After submitting your payment information in the online application form, please wait for
the intimation from the server. DO NOT press BACK or REFRESH button in order to
avoid double charge.
ix)
To ensure security of your data, please close the browser window once your transaction
is completed.
9. Candidate will receive confirmation of registration by SMS/Email after two working days from
the date of payment of fees. There is also a provision to reprint the submitted application
containing fee details, after three days from the date of payment of application fees/service
charges.
10. Candidates shall be solely responsible for filling up the online applications correctly. In case
of invalid applications due to errors committed by the applicant no claims for refund of application
money so collected shall be entertained by the Company.
11. After applying on line, take a print out of the system generated on line application form and
retain it for future reference. Do not send this print out to the company.
12.Issue of Call Letters for on-line test: Candidates will have to visit the UIIC‟s website
www.uiic.co.in for downloading call letters for on-line test about 10 days prior to the exam date.
Intimation for downloading call letter will also be sent through e-mail/SMS. Once the candidate
clicks the relevant link, he/she can access the application form. The candidate is required to use (i)
Registration Number, (ii) Password (iii) Date of Birth for downloading the call letter.
13 . Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply on line much before the closing date
and not to wait till last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability/failure to log on to the
company's website on account of heavy load on internet/website jam.
14. The company does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit
the application within the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason
beyond the control of the company.

12. General Conditions:
1. The candidates called for interview would be required to submit the attested copies of certificates as
per the details given below in proof of their age/date of birth, educational qualifications, community to
which they claim to belong etc., at the time of interview.
a. Caste Certificate in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates is to be obtained from the following
Authorities:
i. District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Collector / Deputy Commissioner / Deputy
Collector / Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate / Executive Magistrate / Extra Assistant
Commissioner (Not below the rank of First Class Stipendiary Magistrate)
ii. Chief Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate / Presidency Magistrate.
iii. Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar
b.
Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally
resides. In
so far as the Scheduled Tribes communities of Tamil Nadu are concerned, only the Certificate
given by the Revenue Divisional Officer (instead of Tehsildar) would be accepted.
c.
For claiming reservation under OBC category, candidate should belong to such Caste or
Community, which is common to both the lists in respect of Mandal Commission and the State
Govt. lists from the State of his/her origin (as per the list published by the Central Govt.). The
benefits of reservation shall not apply to persons/sections belonging to "Creamy Layer" as
specified vide Column 3 of the Schedule of the Department of Personnel and Training OM
No.36012/22/93-Estt (SCT) dated 08.09.1993. Candidates should produce certificate (at the
time of interview, if called) as per proforma prescribed by Ministry of Personnel, Public
Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, which should include that they do not belong to
"Creamy Layer".
d. The SC/ST candidates shall produce latest permanent caste certificates and OBC candidates
shall produce latest fresh caste certificates in support of their claim to belong to SC/ST/OBC as
the case of the competent authority. The said certificates shall be produced at the time of
interview, if called at a later stage.
2. Company reserves the right to fix minimum eligibility standard/bench mark and restrict the
number of candidates to be called for interview taking into account various factors like number of
vacancies, performance of the candidates etc., and decide to determine the qualifying marks for
selecting candidates for interview. The company also reserves the right to fix minimum eligibility
standard/cut-off marks while finalizing such candidates to be called for interview as well as
selecting the candidates for final selection after the interview. The decision of the company in this
regard shall be final and binding and no correspondence in this regard would be entertained with
the candidates.
3.
Company has its Offices throughout India and the Company shall have the prerogative to decide on
allotment and posting of the selected candidates depending on the requirement and not at the
candidate's choice and no requests in this regard would be entertained.
4.
The decision of the Company will be final and binding in all matters. The Company takes no
responsibility for any delay in receipt of or non receipt of application or communication at any point of
time during the recruitment exercise.

Company reserves the right not to call any candidates to appear at the written examination and

GUIDELINES FOR SCANNING THE PHOTOGRAPH & SIGNATURE
Before applying online a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her
photograph and signature as per the specifications given below .
(i) PHOTOGRAPH IMAGE :
_ Photograph must be a recent passport style colour picture.
_ The picture should be in colour, against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
_ Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face
_ If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade, so that
you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows
_ If you have to use flash, ensure there is no “red-eye”
_ If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
_ Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover
your face.
_ Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)
_ Size of file should be between 20kb–50 kb
_ Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. If the size of the file is more than 50
KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the
process of scanning.
(ii) SIGNATURE IMAGE:
_ The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.
_ The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
_ The signature will be used to put on the Hall Ticket and wherever necessary.
_ If the Applicant‟s signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the
signature on the Hall Ticket, the applicant will be disqualified.

_ Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred)
_ Size of file should be between 10kb – 20kb
_ Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20KB
SCANNING THE PHOTOGRAPH & SIGNATURE:
_ Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch)
_ Set Color to True Color
_ File Size as specified above
_ Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to
crop the image to the final size (as specified above).
_ The image file should be JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is : image01.jpg or image01.jpeg
Image dimensions can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon.
Candidates using MS Windows/MSOffice can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not
exceeding 50KB & 20KB respectively by using MS Paint or MSOffice Picture Manager. Scanned
photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using „Save As‟ option in the File
menu and size can be reduced below 50KB(photograph) & 20KB(signature) by using crop and then
resize option (Please see point (i) & (ii) above for the pixel size) in the „Image‟ menu. Similar options are
available in other photo editor also.
If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed.
While filling in the Online Application Form the candidate should fill in all his details on Page 1. After
verifying that the details he has filled in are correct and clicking on the „Submit/ Next‟ button a link will be
provided on Page 2 of the online application form to upload his photograph and signature.
Procedure for Uploading the Photograph and Signature
(i) There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature
(ii) Click on the respective link “Upload Photograph / Signature”
(iii) Browse & Select the location where the Scanned Photo / Signature file has been saved.
(iv) Select the file by clicking on it
(v) Click the „Upload‟ button
Your Online Application will not be registered unless you upload your photo and signature as
specified.
Note :
a. In case the face in the photograph or signature is unclear the candidate‟s application may be rejected.
b. Candidates are advised to take a printout of their system generated online application forms after
registering.
