Students: How to retrieve a lost username or password
MathXL® for School
If you lose your username or password for MathXL for School, you may be able to resolve this issue on
your own, or you may need to contact Pearson support.
Username: If you do not know your username, your teacher can retrieve it by viewing the student roster
for your class in MathXL for School.
Password: Your teacher does not have access to your password through the program, but he or she might
have it stored elsewhere. Please check with your teacher before following the steps below.
Request username and password by email
In order to resolve your username/password issue, you will need to have access to the email address you
used when registering for MathXL for School.
1. Go to the MathXL for School homepage: http://www.mathxlforschool.com
2. Click on the Forgot username or password? link in the Sign In box.
3. Enter your email address and username in the boxes provided. If you don’t know both, just enter
one of them. (If you only enter your email address, you may receive an email with multiple
usernames and passwords for Pearson products.)
4. Click the Send My Login Name and Password button.
5. Check your email inbox. You should see an email from product.support that provides you with
your username and password.

MathXL® for School
If you do not receive the email, there are a few things you could try:
a. Ask your teacher. When you first started using MathXL for School, did someone else
give you your username and password? If so, this means that your teacher or school
administrator set up your account and may have used their own email address. The
username and password reminder may have been sent to them. Please ask your teacher if
he or she received the email in this case.
b. Check your spam or junk folder.
c. Check the inbox of any other email accounts you might have used when setting up
your account.
Contact Pearson’s Product Support
If you are unable to receive the password retrieval email, contact Pearson’s Product Support staff to
change your email address.

2. Ask the support representative to change your email address to a current account. You will need to
answer the security questions on file.*
3. Once your email address is current, perform the steps on the first page of this tip sheet to retrieve
your username or password.
* If you are not able to answer the security questions, you will need to ask your teacher to contact
Pearson’s Product Support to change your email address for you. Once your email is correct, you will
need to perform the steps on page one to retrieve your username or password by email.
