A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) is a book published by the Project Management
Institute (PMI), outlining a set of standard terminology and guidelines for Project Management. The PMBOK Guide was first
published by the PMI as a white paper in 1983 in an attempt to document and standardize generally accepted project
management information and practices. The first edition was published in 1996 followed by the second edition in 2000. In 2004,
the third Edition was published with major changes from the previous editions. The fourth Edition was released on December 31,
2008.
Work on the fifth edition was completed in 2012 and you can now “back order” the PMBOK® Guide 5th Edition on the PMI

date. Stay tuned
Does this mean that I will have and “old” PMP certificate after the “cut-off” date?
No. The current version of the PMBOK Guide has no influence over your PMP status. You can compare this to your high-school
diploma. Even if you received your high-school diploma years back and the school curriculum has changed many times since
then, your diploma and your status are just as valid today as they were when you finished high school.
What revision of PMBOK Guide is your Study Material based on?
At the moment all our study materials are based on the PMBOK 4th Edition.
What Study Material should I use for my PMP Exam?
If you are planning to take the exam before July 31, you should go ahead and register with our present packages. In fact, we
strongly recommend that you take your exam before the July 31 cut-off date because at this stage the content of the training
materials made for PMBOK 4th Edition are more “complete” than the new tutorials that have to be created soon.
When will your Study Materials be updated for the PMBOK 5th Edition?
What if I purchase your present study materials (based on PMBOK 4th edition) but can’t take the PMP Exam until
after the cut-off date? Do I have to re-purchase again?
If you don’t take the exam by July 31, and you have to switch to the 5th edition exam we will upgrade your training package with
the 5th edition material at one third of the regular price. This offer is valid for those who register between Jan 1, 2013 and July
31, 2013.
What changes have been made on the PMBOK 5th Edition?
