Nine months have passed very quickly! The year’s end always brings with it a tremendous sense of accomplishment. So many things have been accomplished this year! From the student retreats in the beginning of the year, to the 8th Grade Graduationwhich took place last week, our students have been involved in an extraordinary number of activities. Of course, we should not forget the tremendous amount of learning which has taken place during the year. Throughout all of these activities, our students have demonstrated great character and service to others! We want to thank Sherry Berigan for her 15 years of service to St. Regis. Mrs. Berigan has done a wonderful job of cooking and preparing healthy lunches, bookkeeping for the cafeteria program and making sure that we have a spotless kitchen for the school. Mrs. Berigan has decided to move on to pursue fulltime employment, and we wish her the best of luck. We are happy to announce that Judi Young will be staying on and moving into the Cafeteria Supervisor position. We are hoping to fill the assistant position within the next few weeks, so if you are interested, see the ad below. Again, we want to express gratitude to Sherry for everything she has done for us over these past 15 years. This coming week will be our last week of school. Catholic Family/Domestic Church Our children will become who we are – show them that you are a child of God. Allow God to make you into a person worthy of being imitated by your children. Good habits can take the place of bad ones. These good habits are sometimes called virtues – “The virtuous person tends toward the good with all his sensory and spiritual powers; he pursues the good and chooses it in concrete actions. ‘The goal of a virtuous life is to become like God’” (ccc 1803). Vices are bad habits many of us fall into throughout our lives. When we consciously choose to do good we can, over time, replace a bad habit with a good one. Your children need to see examples of good habits from you, and they need you to point out to them when they are performing a good deed. We do as Jesus commanded when we feed our children, when we give them drink, when we clothe them, when we welcome them into our families, when we care for them in sickness. “[A]s you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me” (Mt 25:40). Our children help US – their parents – get to heaven. VBS I still need people to help with Vacation Bible School in leader roles. If you would be able to help lead one of the activities, please contact Susan Duerr at 761-1608 ext. 314. Scrip News The last credit will be posted before school is out. You can still purchase cards over the summer and this will be credited to your tuition for next school year. Happy Shopping!
