Vauxhall Fashion Scout presents ‘Conductivity’A James Small AW2012 film Embargoed 9th February 2012 James Small gets electric this season collaborating with Vauxhall Fashion Scout to create the striking new fashion film, 'Conductivity', starring Brit hip-hop star Richard Rawson (Fazer), model/presenter Zara Martin and the new Vauxhall Ampera. Directed by Jak FrSH and styled by James Small, 'Conductivity' showcases James' AW2012 collection and celebrates Vauxhall Motors on-going support of the British menswear designer. Award-winning musician Fazer and style star Zara Martin light up the screen in this moving picture presentation featuring exclusive previews of James Small's anticipated AW'12 collection which he will show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout on 22nd February at Freemason's Hall Covent Garden. Vauxhall Motors also loaned James Small one of the first Vauxhall Amperas to feature in the film ahead of its launch this April, giving a sneak peek at the sleek new extended range electric carEurope’s first electrically driven car which uses ground-breaking technology making it suitable for everyday driving. 'Conductivity' follows an uber stylish man (Fazer) and woman (Zara Martin) who are living in an age where technology and electricity are ingrained in their lives - they are electric. The film, featuring music by British musician Thy-Maryan, follows the couple on their journey through a slick, modern world to an underground party where they become the centre of attention and sparks fly. Director Jak FrSH commented, “Electricity is central to the future of our world and for this reason I loved the idea of using this concept as the central theme of a film. I was heavily influenced by the iconic films Tron and Blade Runner and wanted to create a futuristic backdrop and fashionable environment where these characters could own the theme of electricity.” Speaking about the film's star-studded cast James Small said; “Both Fazer and Zara are close friends of mine and I knew they would bring their own electricity to the set, bringing the film and the concept to life.” James Small went on to comment, “The AW2012 collection is about challenging perceptions and boundaries- it is a collection born to rebel and be different. It's great that Vauxhall Motors have let me work in such a dynamic way with the Vauxhall Ampera. With an abundance of attitude and energy this collection distinguishes the men from the boys. Strictly for those who dare.” James Small will be showing his anticipated collection on Men’s day of Vauxhall Fashion Week’s presentations which will also feature shows from Merit Award Winner Phoebe English as well as Ones to Watch Anne Sofie Madsen, Heohwan Simulation, Myrza de Muynck, Nova Chiu, BODYBOUND, Joseph Turvey, Julian Zigerli and TOBEFRANK. Commenting on Vauxhall Motors support of James Small, Vauxhall Director of Communications, Dennis Chick said, “We are delighted to once again work with the talented menswear designer James Small who’s fresh and innovative designs are a testament to the young British talent we aim to support through Vauxhall Fashion Scout. This film showcases that creativity and offers a first look at James’ new designs.” To view ‘Vauxhall Fashion Scout presents ‘Conductivity’ – A James Small AW2012 film’ go to: http://www.youtube.com/Vauxhall -ENDS – For further information on Vauxhall Motors or Vauxhall Fashion Scout please contact: Samantha Cunnington or Mikey O’Brien on 02071005050 or email on firstname.lastname@johndoehub.com For further information on James Small Menswear, please contact: Sophie Harris on 02078360440 or email Sophie@dustpr.com Notes to Editors: James Small Menswear James Small demonstrates everything Vauxhall Motors support – creativity, passion, and cutting edge design. Depending on the style of driving and road conditions, a distance of between 25 and 50 miles can be covered in battery-operated mode, completely free of tailpipe emissions. The Ampera is always driven electrically and when the battery has reached its minimum state of charge, the range extender automatically turns on and powers a generator to feed the electric drive unit extending the Ampera’s total driving range to 360 miles. A full charge for Ampera’s battery can be achieved in less than six hours via a domestic 240v electricity socket at an average cost of around £1, depending on tariff. Vauxhall is on the road to a sustainable future and with more than one billion pounds investment in alternative propulsion it continues to develop its conventional propulsion systems.
