This collection of SELF-ASSESSMENT FORMS will be handed in with your RWB during the exam, both of which I will return to you by the end of the year. Exam Preparation TIPS FROM MS. DECK During the exam, you might be asked the following questions: What is your native language? Do you feel comfortable discussing your work in English? Have you specialized in one particular medium or technique? Why? Why not? Which do you consider your best works? Your worst? Why? Which works were most (least) successful? Why? What major problems did you encounter in your studio work? How did you solve them? What are you expressing in your work? Do you have a theme? Do you think others will see your work the same way you do? What gave you the idea for your images? What resources did you use most? How do you feel the local culture has influenced your work? How do you feel your teachers have influenced you? How does your sketchbook trace/record your development in art (examples)? ***Stick to answering the questions from the examiner and don’t ramble. Examiners do not appreciate long-winded answers. Be articulate, intelligent, and get to the point! They will be paying attention to your vocabulary and if you associate it with those terms generally used when discussing art and design. Do you speak well? Are you articulate? Are your ideas well formed or are you casting about aimlessly? Superficially? And, most of all: NEVER respond to a question with “I don’t know.” IB ART Final Exam for:______________________ This is the form that the teacher will be filling out for you during the final exam for year 1.
