Extra Credit Create pictures of your own imaginary animal that is evolving from an oceandwelling species into a terrestrial (land) one. The whale is a real-life example of the opposite progression, from land to water. See http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/evolution/library/03/4/l_034_05.html for more information. Requirements of the project: 1) You must draw at least three stages of the progression, spanning at least 15 million years. Include the years on your drawing. 2) Include at least four body parts that are evolving; for example, legs, tail, eyes, and teeth. 3) Label the significant body parts and include a brief description of how the evolving body part helped the new animal to adapt to its environment. 4) Your drawing should be about 11” x 14” (half the size of standard poster board).
