discuss (e.g. freed slaves, southern whites, northern whites, the US government) A good
answer will include:
- A thesis statement at the beginning of the essay
- At least two body paragraphs that start with a claim about the group you will be
discussing
- At least two pieces of evidence to support your claim in each body paragraph
- A conclusion the acknowledges the counterargument and refutes it.
