McCormick, Teacher of Social Studies/Psychology May 7, 2013 Dear Parents/Guardians of A.P. Psychology Students: It is quite difficult to believe that this year’s A.P. Psychology course is already nearly complete! Your children have worked very hard in this course, and I am very proud of their effort and dedication. As the course concludes, we will be spending the remaining weeks working on in-class projects, discussing and reflecting upon course content, as well as watching a variety of movies and television clips applicable to psychological concepts. I have asked students to compile a list of movies and television shows related to concepts studied in this course. Between now and the end of the school year, we may be viewing some of these movies entirely, as well as clips of others, and discussing their psychological relevance and application. Students will discuss, with one another, the psychological significance of these movies, and also reflect upon the media’s accuracy in presenting such topics. Attached is a list of movies and television clips that we may possibly be view in class. As some of these movies may be rated “R,” I am asking that you review the list, sign below, showing your consent, and have your child return to me as soon as possible. If there are any movies on this list that you would not like your child to view, please indicate such. Feel free to contact me with any questions! Sincerely, Philip S.
