Other Course Policies (The following should be included. You can add other policies that you wish to
enforce in your course.)
1. Audio or videotaping (or use of any other electronic recording media) of the lectures is not
permitted unless the student presents the course professor with valid documentation for this
accommodation from the Office of Disability Services.
http://studentaffairs.rutgers.edu/disability/docs/ld.pdf. If the student has this documentation,
he/she then needs to complete an agreement form with the course professor (see
http://www.rci.rutgers.edu/~polcomp/fachand.shtml#appd)
2. Cell Phones and other Electronic Communication Devices: As a courtesy to both faculty and
students, all portable cell phones, Blackberries, I-pods, I-phones, etc. must be turned OFF efore
entering the classroom. When class is in session, the use of Instant Messenger type
communication systems, playing games, and watching video clips on laptop computers, and text
messaging on cell phones is unprofessional and a distraction to faculty and other students. Thus,
they are STRICTLY prohibited DURING all lecture sessions. Students found engaging in these
behaviors will be asked to leave the lecture room.
3. All written assignments must be typewritten, double spaced, using the APA (6th ed.) format (Up
to10% of the final grade may be deducted for incorrect formatting). There are multiple (on/offline)

resources that you can use to guide you with the APA citation style (i.e., Library and student sites).
A useful site is Purdue University, which you can access at
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/1 or our Rutgers eCollege course site (look for the
“Citation Guidelines” tab on the left frame of the course home page.
4. Plagiarism will result in an automatic “F” on the written assignment. Please adhere to the Rutgers
University Academic Integrity Policy which can be accessed at
http://academicintegrity.rutgers.edu/. (Include here the use of Turnitin, if you will use this service).
