Graduate Resident Director, Any major may apply, must have the ability to
demonstrate leadership at the undergraduate level.

Candidate must have applied or be in the process of
applying into one of Alfred University's graduate
programs to begin study Summer/Fall 2005.
Position duties include live-in responsibilities for an
undergraduate staff of 3 - 8, and a residence hall
living area of 80 - 125. Participation in an on-call
duty rotation, supervision of area's residence hall
council and programming progress for resident
assistant staff, and service as a judicial hearing
officer for first-level violations of the University's
Code of Conduct. Attendance at weekly
departmental staff meetings, and other duties as
assigned including a collateral assignment in a
Student Affairs department.

The Office of Residence Life at Alfred University offers the unique opportunity to students interested in the field of student affairs to apply what is
learned in the classroom to their own residence hall environment. Each graduate Resident Director completely supervises all aspects of a living area
comprised of residential students, paraprofessional staff, and management of facilities. Participation in an on-call crisis response team and service as
a judicial hearing officer, in addition to experiences gained given the cyclical nature of a residence life department, creates tremendous opportunities
for individual growth in a small, safe environment with ample mentors available and dedicated to your professional development. The successful
candidate will achieve a graduate degree from the Counseling program (preferably) and have gained experience in a wide variety of areas that
provide a solid foundation for the next step professionally typically at the area coordinator or assistant director level.
