1) The Tournament is double elimination, with a 3 game minimum.
2) Major League rules will be followed. With the following exceptions:
a. There will be a re-entry rule, provided they occupy their original spot in the batting order.
b. There is an optional EH. The EH may enter field, and the original fielder will then become the EH.
Treat the EH as any other starter (for substitute purposes).
c. Courtesy runner for pitcher & catcher after 2 outs, from the bench. Runner must be used before first
pitch. Same runner may not be used for both pitcher and catcher in same inning. Runner must not be in lineup.
d. If all substitutes are used, and a player is injured, a player from bench may be substituted. Selection of this
substitute must be made by the opposing manager.
e. There is a Slide or Avoid rule at home plate.
3) Adults must dress uniformly. Tank tops and sandals are not permitted. No smoking on coaching lines or
in dugouts. Shorts will be allowed.
4) The August 1st cutoff will be enforced for all players.
5) Each team shall consist of not more than 15 players. A roster listing the full name, age, and date of birth of each
player must be submitted to the Tournament Committee prior to the start of each team’s 1st game in the
Tournament, after which time no changes may be made.
6) Photocopies of birth certificates or Babe Ruth Cards must be in the possession of managers at all times.
7) Insurance coverage is the responsibility of the individual team entered in the Tournament.
8) Teams must report 30 minutes before game time so they can toss for home team, and submit line-ups to the
scorekeeper and opposing team. All changes must be given to opponent and scorekeeper.
Please include First & Last Name, Number, and Position.
9) Only Players, manager, coaches (2), scorekeeper (1), and bat boy (1 with helmet) will be allowed to occupy dugout
10) No pitcher can pitch more than 7 innings in one game or 2 consecutive games.
11) The ten run rule will be in effect after 4 1/2 innings of play.
12) If a game is incomplete because of inclement weather, it will be picked up from the point of where it ended. An official
game which is stopped because of inclement weather will be considered complete.
13) Forfeit:
a. Team not arriving at the field within 15 minutes after the scheduled game time.
b. Team not able to field 9 players at the start of a game. Teams may finish a game with 8 players.
If finishing with 8, open batting spot is an automatic out. If starting with 10, open batting spot is skipped.
c. Stalling the game.
14) Problems of any kind caused by a team will result in the suspension of said team from the
Tournament without refund of the entrance fee. Any fans causing problems will be asked to
leave. If they refuse, the Police will be called and the fan removed.
15) Protesting games:
The game will stop at the point of protest, and the Protest Committee will go to the clubhouse
and make a ruling. The game will then resume with an extension of time equal to the time it took
for a ruling. The protest committee will be comprised of 2 uninvolved members from Hamilton
Lou Gehrig, and a Board Member of Hamilton Lou Gehrig. Each team involved in the protest
should have an uninvolved parent present their side of the argument.
*ALL DECISIONS OF THE PROTEST COMMITTEE ARE FINAL*
16) No new inning shall start after 2 hours and 15 minutes, regardless of inning, unless score is tied.
17) Each team must play at the time decided upon by the Hamilton Lou Gehrig League.
18) Intentional Walks are not automatic. The pitcher is required to pitch to the batter.
