Re: Poison Prevention 2006
Dear School Principal,
We are writing to invite you to participate in the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and
Pharmaceutical Science’s 2006 Poison Prevention Program. The School of Pharmacy has been sponsoring a Poison Prevention Program for the last nine years. We have approximately 100 first year professional pharmacy students who donate their time to educate students in the local area about the dangers of poison.
Our small groups of students travel to classrooms throughout Western New York and speak with children in Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade classes. We teach the basics regarding poison prevention such as identifying poisons, routes of poisoning, and what to do if a poisoning occurs.
Tentatively, our program is scheduled for February 20 through March 31, 2006 excluding the week of March 13 through March 17, 2006.
If you are interested in having us visit your classrooms, please complete the enclosed materials and send them to: University at Buffalo, School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences,
Office of the Dean, 126 Cooke Hall, Buffalo, NY 14260-1200 . Please respond no later than
January 17, 2006 . If you have any questions regarding our program, please contact Mr. Navind
Oodit, the student Poison Prevention Program Coordinator at noodit@buffalo.edu
.
Sincerely,
Karl D. Fiebelkorn M.B.A., R.Ph. Navind Oodit
