Study Abroad Programme: Textiles
www.manchester.ac.uk/undergraduate/studyabroad
Who?



Need 50% average in first year, 55% average in second year
Need good work and attendance record
For Worldwide Exchanges - need to be able to pay for flights (although in the past
some LEA’s have funded flights), visas, insurance, accommodation, etc. We estimate
a semester abroad on a Worldwide Exchange is £1000 - £2500 more expensive than
being in Manchester – but the experience outweighs the cost.
Where?
1. Erasmus Exchange Links (Europe)
 Erasmus grant available for EU nationals (about €200 per month)
 Tuition free year (EU nationals only)
 Teach in English, so no foreign languages required
 BUT, if you do want to improve your foreign lang skills then up to £250 language
reimbursement is available for language training either in the UK or in your host
country to allow you to either learn the basics or brush up existing language skills
