This is why I love what I do as an educator. There is always the excitement of a new class project; a new book to read and the best is a new student to meet. 2011 is going to be a great year for all of us at Beaumont Middle School. As I am sure you are aware there are lots of conversations going around about the boundary changes for Alameda, Sabin (Access), and Beaumont Schools. I want to personally thank Charles Kelley, Mohammad Bader and Anne Lipsitz for representing Beaumont as Site Council members on the district boundary committee. They have offered their strong voices on behalf of Beaumont Middle School. My hope is that an equitable and honorable decision will be made based on what is best for all students in these three buildings. We will make sure all accurate information is on the Beaumont Website. http://www.pps.k12.or.us/schools/beaumont/ The staff is continuing to use professional development time to create strong instruction in the area of writing. The Science Fair, Writing Contest, Beaumont Anthology and the Writing Festival are all coming up in the near future. I am also pleased with the programs offered outside of the classroom; morning study hall, Girls' Night Out, Backstage Pass Field trips and the Unity Club. We are a very busy place.
