Analysis
FMS in a NUTSHELL
The test of FMS was of 200 questions, as it was already declared before the test. On the
contrary, there were 175 questions asked in 2009. With questions being rounded off to 200,
the sections were also made equal with four sections containing 50 questions each. The
sections were easy, moderate or difficult as a whole. IRA was very easy and one could solve
18-20 questions easily within the time limit of 25-30 minutes. MA was easy and again one
could solve 20-22 questions within 30 minutes. EU and VA was moderate and required good
proficiency to solve the questions. Those who had solved the wordlist had an upper hand as
direct questions of synonyms and antonyms were there. Paragraph correction was a bit
difficult. The section of RC was difficult in terms of length of RC. There were 4 RCs with
number of questions 6, 7, 13 and 24. As the RCs were very lengthy one could solve any one of
the 2 RCs with maximum weightage ie, the RC of 13 and 24 questions and one RC with 6 and
7 questions. In 30 minutes one could solve 17-20 questions. Overall attempt could be 80 to 90.
