BUSINESS PLAN SURAKI COMPANY
The company “SURAKI” S.R.L. was established in 2001 and is an agro-industrial complex situated in the
village of Rasuceni, Giurgiu County, at about 60 km from Bucharest. It was registered at Trade Register
Office of the Giurgiu Law Court on 26.07.2001 with the number J52/170/06.07.2001, having VAT
number RO 14072821.
Still from the beginning of SURAKI company establishment, its chief manager has foreseen the possibility
of business development using EU non-reimbursable financing programs. In 2001 year there was signed
the first financing contract with World Bank, in the value of 180.000 USD, project title - “Extending the
ostrich growing in south area of Romania in view of organization and operating the family farm for
ostrich growing”.
In 2005 year the other success has taken place, it was signed the 2-nd project financed by EU nonreimbursable financing program. The project - “Modernization of the farm for ostrich growing” was
finalized in 2006, having the value of 547.000 EUR, financing source – SAPARD funds. Since that time to
date the farm was expanded constantly, having been built an incubation station, an office building,
concrete platform etc., the actual value being over 1.000.000 EUR.
The 3-rd project of our company consisted in “Plant for slaughtering and processing the ostrich meat”
was started also in 2005, having the finalization term in 2007. It was realized using the SAPARD funds as
well, and its value was more than 4.000.000 EUR.
The company “SURAKI” SRL operates at present the 4-th project, financed by non-reimbursable program
from European Regional Development Fund – ERDF. The project duration is for 2 years (2010-2012),
having its value of 717.060 EUR and the title “Advanced research for transformation of some wastes
(ostrich fat) in the product of high economical value”.
As such, our company is in permanent development, diversification of activity branches representing at
this moment the most important directions in the applied management.
The complex “Suraki” is specialized in growing the ostriches, but this activity represents a small part of
whole activity, the rest being slaughtering of sheep/goats, game animals and sausage production.
Main activity: the processing and preservation - CAEN code 1011. Our company is present on the market
with products from mutton, venison (wild boar, deer, deer, and bear), ostrich meat, duck meat and
turkey.
SURAKI Company considers those processes that are initiated and developed for clients, as "key
processes" of the organization. Being a manufacturer of meat products, key processes SC SURAKI SRL
are:

The period from October to March is hunting season, so the company purchased and cutting hunting
animals, according to the forestry contracts, representing stocks and necessary. Given the seasonality of
this activity, there are peak periods: before Easter (lamb) and Christmas (duck and turkey, venison,
ostrich) and cold season (autumn-winter).
Because it works on the basis of orders there periods during the summer working at reduced capacity or
in other day parts (night). The arguments in this regard are that it is delivered fresh morning reaching
our customers and electricity costs are reduced.
The range of products offered by our company is thus:
 Ostrich meat products (steak, delight African, Mexican delight, small sausages, skewers, rawdried sausages, organs, etc.);
 Sheep meat products (housing, working flesh, pulp, chop, ham, small, meat offal, sausages and
salami and boiled-smoked-dried, organs, etc.);
 venison products (tabs, thigh, shoulder, sausages hunting, hunting small pastrami, organs, meat
and salami, dried and cooked smoked, organs, etc.). Refers to products made from venison,
deer, bear, wild boar, and small game such as rabbits to, pheasant, quail, partridge, duck, etc.
Distribution is done directly from the slaughterhouse to the cold store their cars to large retail chains
and the HoReCa units.
Our customers are:
 Retail shops (Carrefour, Metro, Real, Auchan, Cora, Billa, Mega Image);
 Meat products plant (Scandia, Gepeto, Carnsan, Koran Integra, Ana & Cornel, Agricola Bacau,
Imdia, Vericom);
 Distributors (Intertrade, oneiric Miric, Euroest, Macromex Agroalim);
 Over 700 customers HoReCa (hotels and top restaurants: Marriot Hotel, Radisson Hotel, "La
Mama" City Grill etc).
Product promotion is done by:
 Sampling organization in large retail chains like Metro Cash & Carry Romania, Carrefour
Romania SA, Mega Image Ltd, Auchan Romania SA, Romania Real;
 Distribution of information materials (flyers, brochures, etc.);
 Information and reporting achievement promotion and special thematic programs on television
(TVR 1 and 2, Kanal D, Antena 3, PRO TV);

Commercial debts are around 80.000 euros for more supply companies.
Total necessary of financing is 572.000 euros.
