Project Overview
March 1999 - Jan 2000 – Hospital Administration System for Ranga Nursing Home,
Tiruchirappalli
The project goal is to deliver a hospital administration system for this major nursing home.
Have been designing and implementing a data archival and report generation system that
classifies and retrieve information lab-wise, in-patient-wise, out-patient-wise and doctor-wise.
A Client-Server design that uses Event-Driven programming model is adopted. Data is stored
in as add-ons into an Oracle 7.0 database and are accessed through a Front-End created using
Power Builder 5.0. The SQL Painter and Database Administration Painter features were
extensively employed. Event selections are using Script Painter. Windows are drawn using
the PowerBuilder Library.
June 1998 – March 1999 – Reports automation system for Matriculation Schools,
Tiruchirappalli.
The project goal was to deliver a school information management system that dealt with
student admissions, fees, exam results, staff salaries and so on. A highly sophisticated EventDriven Front-End was designed and implemented which offered extensive user selection and
controls including Drag-Drop and ZOrder methods. Information pertaining to all school
levels and all terms were managed by the system. The Front-End was implemented in Visual
Basic 6.0 with MS-Access serving as the Relational Database repository. The design
involved the simultaneous access to 10 tables within a database using MS-Flex –Grid Control.
May 1997 – April 1998 – Transaction management and reporting system for State Bank of
India, Tiruchirappalli.
The project goal was to deliver banking software that managed customer accounts and loans.
Designed and delivered a system that accepted transaction information classified on account
category, account size, loan category and loan period and tracked interest, running balances
and repayments. The design involved an Event-Driven Programming Model and a ClientServer setup. The Front-End was implemented in Visual Basic 5.0 with Oracle 7.0
Backend server as data repository.
February 1997 – May 1997 – Hotel reservation management system for Ramya Hotels,
Tiruchirappalli.
The project goal was to build a reservation and billing system for the five-star hotel. Designed
and delivered a system that accepted inputs on room category, occupancy, period of stay and
other billable services, managed reservations and generated bills. The system was
implemented in Visual Basic 4.0 with MS Access as data repository. Created a Dynamic
Data Exchange link between MS Access and MS Excel to generate the spreadsheets for
receipt against payments, spin button controls were used.
July 1996 – January 1997 – Was an instructor for Oracle, PowerBuilder and FoxPro in
C-Square Computers, Tiruchirappalli
November 1995- February 1996 – Inventory tracking system for G.B.Engineering
Enterprises Ltd., Thuvakudi.
The project goal was to build an inventory tracking and maintenance system for raw
materials, consumables and resources. Designed and delivered a system that reported
purchases, sales, stocks, reorder-level attainment and labor utilization. Labor utilization was
tracked job-wise, welder-wise, month-wise and contractor-wise. The system was
implemented in Fox pro 2.6. The system was designed to access 3 tables simultaneously.
