Career Services for the Perdue School
Career Services extended to YOUR students this past academic year include:
 Conducted 120 presentations, 30 presentations for Perdue students and included:
Intro to Business-3 classes
Management-11 classes

35 orientation sessions conducted for first-year students,
preparing them for program planning activities.






Career Services had 2,012 individual student appointments, 899 appointments or 45% of all
appointments were with Perdue students. (Table 1). The vast majority of students were most often
referred to the Career Office by “self”, with “faculty” and “friends” being the next biggest source of
referrals.
eRecruiting (Our online database providing services to students, alumni and employers.) 849
Perdue students logged into the system. 128 Perdue students found/contacted at least one mentor
(800 SU alums who have volunteered to assist current students in their career pursuits) using the
Mentor Network on eRecruiting. Our student’s resumes were viewed 2,851 times by 335 different
employers through this system.

Organized 5 Job Fairs for students, including:
o Fall General Job and Internship Fair- 87 employers attended, 428 student attendees
o Spring General Job and Internship Fair- 80 employers attended, 638 student attendees, 180
Perdue students
o SU/UMES Education Job Fair- 47 employers participated, 200 student attendees
o Summer Job Fair- 25 employers participated, 284 student attendees, 50 Perdue students
o Health Care Job Fair- 35 employers participated, 8 Perdue Students attended
Over 36 employers conducted 394 on-campus interviews, 30 employers held Information Sessions
or hosted information tables on-campus. During On-Campus Interviews employers rated our
students on average 2.21 in questions concerning interview preparedness and quality. (1-5 scale
with 2 being “Above Average”). The vast majority of students interviewing on-campus were Perdue
students.
Over 400 students signed up to receive weekly text messages from the Career Services Office.
29 other Workshops/ Presentations, reaching over 600 students (and over 200 parents) included:
 Etiquette Dinner, sponsored by the AMA club- 60 students

 Succeeding in Federal Interviews (NEW)- 21 students
 Getting a Job in a Weak Economy (2)- 46 students
 Interviewing and Dress to Impress - 20 students
 How to Approach a Job Fair in 30 minutes or Less (2)- 58 students
 How to Use and Understand e Recruiting in 45 minutes- 6 students
 Job Hunting , Down, Dirty and Fast-23 students

First Destination Survey: Every year as students pick up their caps and gowns we set up several
computers in the Bookstore for them to complete an online survey that lets us know where they are going
after graduation…their “first destination”. Below are some of the highlights of the data. You can look at all
the survey data, including some major information at the following link. Don't forget to click on Graduation
Date as one of the Qualifiers. http://www.salisbury.edu/careerservices/Facstaff/Survey.html This year 716
students completed the survey, 637 were at the Bachelor’s level.
