HOPE worldwide Volunteer Corps (Hunan)
In August this year, HOPE worldwide will organize a trip for volunteers to host a English summer camp in a high
school and visit sponsored students in the location below. The details are as follows:

Content of Activities
(Provisional)
 To provide a meaningful volunteer opportunity to participants
 To train the local students for speaking and listening in English
 To develop friendship with the local students that encourages them to succeed in
school
 Visit sponsored students in the mountain areas to verify their families’ economic status
Service recipients
High school students in Zhangjiajie and sponsored students in Sangzhi
No. of Participants
Around 40 persons
 Volunteer aged 5 years old or above (For children aged 5 – 12, they must be
accompanied by parents or guidance. For teenagers aged 13 – 18, interview may be
required prior to admission)
 Anyone who is a current donor in HOPE worldwide’s Student-sponsorship programme

 If number of registration exceeds the quota, participants will be selected first-comefirst-serve basis
 Application deadline: July 4, 2011 (Monday), 5:00pm (Application can be made
through fax or email)
 Total tour fee is approx. HKD4,200. It includes flight between Guangzhou and

be charged based on the actual expenses)
Day 1 – July 31 (Sunday)
Travel to Zhangjiajie by air. Accommodate at local hotel. Pre-teaching preparation.

Day 2 – Day 6 – August 1 – 5 (Monday – Friday)
Organise English summer camp at a high school in Zhangjiajie city. Divide into groups to
visit sponsored students’ homes in rural villages on Friday.
Day 7 – August 6 (Saturday)
Sightseeing. Return to Hong Kong
