RPL ASSESSMENT: YOUR SECOND OPPORTUNITY Over 10 500 candidates took advantage of the March 2004 assessment exercise in an attempt to ensure compliance with the Fit and Proper Determination. Fit and Proper is subordinate legislation to the FAIS Act, which stipulates that financial service providers register their practices under the FAIS Act and are licensed in terms of the Fit and Proper Determination. INSETA hopes that those who undertook the first round of assessments were successful in their endeavours. However, if you missed out on this opportunity to become Fit and Proper, kindly note that UNISA will be running a second RPL assessment exercise from 17 May to 20 May 2004. Candidates who were deemed “not competent” after the first assessment are also allowed to take the May assessment, with question papers for this assessment exercise also being available in the medium of Afrikaans. The second round of assessments is supported by INSETA and will be written at UNISA’s examination venues countrywide. Further queries can be directed to INSETA’s help-line at (012) 429-4465 or, by email, to: inseta-info@unisa.ac.za Registration: To register on-line, please visit the UNISA website at: www.unisa.ac.za/INSETA.
