Indiana e-Transcript: the state’s e-Transcript service provides a convenient and secure option for sending high school transcripts to colleges electronically, a preferred method of many colleges. Purdue Extension is offering a FREE three week series of parenting classes called ‘Parent’s Night Out’ on Mondays from 6:30-8:30pm at Washington Catholic Library. Classes begin October 1st. College Announcements Vincennes University will be waiving its application fee for students who apply online during the entire month of September! Visit www.vinu.edu/apply today! There will be a National College Fair on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Indiana Convention Center downtown Indianapolis. For more information please visit www.gotomyncf.com Indiana State University will waive their $25 application fee the entire month of September in honor of College GO! Week. www.indstate.edu The University of Indianapolis has sent applications for seniors as well as some additional information that may be beneficial. Students can avoid a $25 paper application fee by applying online at admissions.unidy.edu/apply. The University of Evansville has frozen its tuition prices and guaranteed for four years. To learn more visit www.evansville.edu/bigfreeze1 Sullivan College of Technology and Design in Louisville, KY offers many programs including Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Graphic Design, and HVAC(R), Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology (scholarships). Students wishing to use a paper application should contact Purdue Admissions to request one. Indiana University will only be considering official SAT/ACT test scores sent directly from the testing agencies for admission and merit scholarship consideration. These test scores must be submitted by November 1 for students to be considered for Automatic Academic and most Selective Scholarships or Scholar Programs. Direct Admission for the Kelley School of Business for fall 2013 applicants will no longer include class rank. The GPA and test score components are the same as 2012. Students who are completing Indiana’s Core 40 Diploma with Academic Honors are admissible to IUPUI regardless of cumulative GPA or test score. Beginning with students applying for fall 2012, Vincennes University will require every applicant to have a high school diploma earned via passage of a graduate qualifying exam (GQE), or to have a general educational development (GED) diploma. This means that students who have a high school diploma earned through a GQE waiver will need to complete certain steps to be considered for admissions. For these steps please contact the guidance office. Students planning to apply to Purdue must have their SAT/ACT test scores are sent directly from the testing agency. Purdue will not accept SAT/ACT test scores listed on the high school transcript as official scores. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Sward. College Preview Days/Open Houses *Students are allowed two days of college visitations during their senior year. It is the responsibility of the student/parent to set up an individual college visit. To do so, you should contact the Admissions Office at the particular university at least 2 weeks prior to the date you would like to visit. Students must have proper paperwork (2 forms) on file in the guidance office for the absence to be excused and not count as an absence. The College of Technology at Purdue University is hosting Windows of Opportunity for Women in Technology (WOWiT) on Saturday, October 20, 2012 for girls in Project Lead the Way classes. The purpose of the program is to introduce high school students, especially females, to the College of Technology and all its possibilities. University of Indianapolis will be hosting High School Day on Saturday, October 27th for high school juniors and seniors interested in learning more about U of I. Registration begins at 9am. Effective with the October 2012 test, students will be prompted to provide a photo during registration for the SAT. Students must present their Admission Tickets (and acceptable photo ID) to enter the test center. Standby testing will not be permitted. Effective with the March 2013 SAT, students will be required to provide a photo during registration.
