Delger Batnyam
Host: Mervina K.M. Cash-Keo is the President and CEO of ALU LIKE, Inc. a nonprofit dedicated to Native Hawaiians who are committed to achieving their potential for
themselves, their families and communities. ALU LIKE, Inc. has been a recipient of
federal funds for more than 33 years. Prior to joining ALU LIKE, Inc., Mervina served
as the President and CEO of the Asian Pacific American Women’s Leadership Institute
and as the Deputy for the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii. In addition to her role as ALU
LIKE, Inc.’s President and CEO, Mervina also serves as a Board member of Papa Ola
Lokahi, the Nanakuli-Maili Neighborhood Board, Effective Planning and
Communication, Nanakuli Neighborhood Housing Services, the Mediation Center of
the Pacific and the Uilani Fund. She is a graduate of the University of Hawai`i at
Manoa and the University of Puget Sound School of Law. Mervina is a native Hawaiian
and lifetime resident of the Nanakuli Hawaiian Homestead.

Shahzia Rashid Chowdhury
Host: Susan Matsushima, the CEO of Alluvion Farms, is a new breed of farmer. A
skilled businesswoman, she has built a series of successful ventures. Her agricultural
expertise encompasses planning and marketing, resource conservation, sustainable
farming, and cutting-edge biological technology. A former elementary school teacher
and perennial educator, she mentors fellow growers and shares her formidable energy
with community groups, public agencies, and academic institutions. In 1995 she
bought Aloha Pacific, moved the operation to Hale‘iwa, and renamed it Alluvion, Inc.
Alluvion is a wholesale nursery, a full-service florist, a source for plant rentals, and a
producer of gift baskets that showcase Hawai‘i plants, produce, and value-added foods.

Berna Gorong
Host: Cara Mazzei is the Communications Director and Special Projects Manager for
U.S. Congresswoman Mazie K. Hirono (D HI-2). Prior to joining Congresswoman
Hirono’s staff, Cara was the director of marketing and communications for the YMCA
of Honolulu. She also previously worked as marketing services manager at International
Sports Australia. Cara is an active member of the Hawaii Women's Business Center
and supporter of the YMCA of Honolulu and Planned Parenthood Hawaii.

Becca Kopp
Host: Colleen Hanabusa is the State Senator for the Twenty-First District of Hawaii
and President of the State Senate of Hawaii. A practicing attorney with more than
twenty-nine years of experience, Senator Colleen has been recognized in "The Best
Lawyers in America" since 1995. In 1998, she was elected the State Senator for the
2009 Changing Faces Program Agenda, Page 6 of 11
Twenty-First District of Hawai‘i. She has served as Chair of Water, Land & Hawaiian
Affairs; Chair of Judiciary and Hawaiian Affairs; Vice-Chair of Ways and Means;
Vice-President of the State Senate; and Majority Leader. In November 2006, she was
elected President of the Senate, the first woman to lead either house in the Hawai‘i
legislature. Colleen attended the University of Hawai‘i where she received her B.A. in
Economics and Sociology, M.A. in Sociology and J.D. from the William S. Richardson
School of Law.

Agnes M. Malinis
Host: Maile Meyer founded Native Books in 1990, Native Books & Beautiful Things
in 1995, and Na Mea Hawai‘i in 2003. She is an entrepreneur with a passion to support
Native Hawaiian producers, artists and manufacturers of made-in Hawai’i products. Na
Mea Hawai‘i currently has three retail stores that celebrate Hawaiian material culture
and local products. Native Books works extensively with schools, institutions and
libraries to ensure that culturally sensitive, historically accurate information on Hawai‘i
is readily available. Native Books maintains a website and assists in the publication of
materials important to the Hawaiian community. Maile received an MBA in Marketing
and Arts Management at Anderson School of Management, University of California at
Los Angeles. She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University.

Kalpana Sankar
Host: Chenoa Farnsworth is the Executive Director of Hawaii Angels and co-founder
of Kolohala Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in Hawaii-based technology
companies. Prior to Kolohala Ventures, Chenoa worked in strategy development and
business planning for start-up companies and small businesses in Hawaii through her
independent consulting company, Farnsworth Consulting. In her consulting practice,
Ms. Farnsworth has reviewed hundreds of business plans and helped her start-up clients
raise over $30 million in financing. Prior to forming her consulting practice, Ms.
Farnsworth spent five years in health and legislative affairs for the Hawaii State Senate
and the American Nurses Association. She has served the Hawaii community as a
director of the Hawaii Women’s Business Center and as a volunteer coach and judge for
the Wayne Brown Institute and University of Hawaii business plan competition. Ms.
Farnsworth earned a BA in political science from the University of California, Santa
Cruz in 1992 and an Executive MBA from the University of Hawaii in 2000.

Sulo Shrestha Shah
Host: Wendy Loh is the Founder of Kona Paradise Candies Corporation and a
member of the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women (HSCSW). Wendy
began Kona Paradise Candies on the Island of Hawaii in 1989. Her highly successful
company has provided a platform from which to provide financial and product support
for many service organizations including the American Heart Association, Pacific
Gateway Center, the River of Life Mission, the Charlie Wedemeyer Foundation and
many more. Wendy also serves on many boards and committees. She is proud of her
contributions to the Hawaii Prayer Breakfast, Jackie Chan USA Foundation, Tzu Chi
Foundation Hawaii, Organization of Chinese Americans, Miss Hawaii Development
Board, Hawaii Foodbank and more. Her vision of abundance through integrity and
service has been her guide as she continues to strive to impact the lives of others.

Kathleen E. Stack
Host: Adria Estibou is the Executive Director of the Women’s Fund of Hawaii.
Women’s Fund of Hawai’i is a grant-making organization that focuses on helping
women and girls in Hawaii become safe, financially secure and empowered. Prior to
joining the Women’s Fund of Hawai’s, Adria worked at the Oceanic Institute as a
grants administrator/grant writer, at the Domestic Violence Action Center where she
consulted as a grants writer, EPIC, Inc., where she was facilitator and training manager
and as associate director of the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council. Prior to moving to
Honolulu, Estribou was with Washington, DC-based Research Institute for Housing
America as assistant publications editor and publications editor. Adria graduated cum
laude from Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion and international
relations and earned her Master of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School
of Advanced International Studies. Her past community service includes board member
of the Association for Conflict Resolution where she served as secretary in 2005; a
member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, ombudsman for Mensa and
board member of the United Nations Association, Hawaii Chapter.

Tran Thi Ngoc Tran
Host: Rosemarie E. Aquino is Vice President of the International Banking Division of
the Bank of Hawaii. Prior to joining the Bank of Hawaii, Rosemarie worked at the
Bishop Trust Company. Rosemarie has also been involved with various community and
professional organizations including, the Filipino Association of University Women,
the American Bankers Association, the Institute of American Bankers and the American
Cancer Society. She was nominated to the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of
Women (HSCSW) for two separate terms, the first expiring on September 12, 2006, and
the second to expire on September 12, 2010. Rosemarie received her Bachelor of Arts
degree in English.

Mary Joyce B. Villacorte
Host: Lisa Schofield is a Project Manager of Conservation and Watershed Planning
with the Oahu Resource Conservation & Development Council (ORC&D). Lisa has
been employed with ORC&D since September 2007 where her primary duty is to
provide conservation plans and technical assistance to farmers and ranchers on O'ahu.
Her goal is to assist them in developing and implementing sustainable agricultural
practices. Other projects include working on a conservation cover crop project on all the
main Hawaiian Islands, and promoting agriculture through outreach at events. Lisa
attends the West and Windward O'ahu Soil and Water Conservation District meetings
as well as the Agriculture Development Task Force meetings.

Qing Yi
Host: Rosalee Puaoi is a Community Development Specialist for the Council for
Native Hawaiian Advancement. Rosalee is Hawaiian and a homesteader from
Waimanalo. She has two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Ethnic Studies and Hawaiian
Studies from the University of Hawaii. She has over 10 years of experience in
education and counseling work and works with various organizations to provide critical

services and build capacity within the Native Hawaiian community. She continues to
actively engage and assist in a number of training and technical assistance contracts that
include local, state and federal clients as part of CNHA's Training & Consultant Center.
