Amateur radio operators are needed for the Fiesta Days 5K and 10K run in La Cañada
Flintridge on Memorial Day morning. This is a fund-raising event for the Crescenta-
Cañada YMCA. DCS will provide communications along the course and at Descanso
Gardens. The hours are 0600 to 0930 on Monday, May 28. To volunteer, please contact
Gene Roske by e-mail reply or by phone at 818-388-5643. This is a DCS event.

The next quarterly new member training day will be this Saturday, May 12, 2007, at the
County Emergency Operations Center. New members are asked to arrive at 0800 Hours to complete the application process before the classes start. The classes offered for new members will be Basic, Message Handling and an overview of Emergency Management.
For current members there will be a new class regarding Hydration from 1200 - 1300
Hours. Please note that the first Hydration class has been filled along with the Traffic class. The DCO/CRO Forum will run from 1000 to 1200 Hours. Please email Debby

Identification Badge Exchange. The next ID Exchange will be held this Saturday, May
12, 2007, from 1230 - 1400 Hours at the CEOC/EOB. If you would like to reserve a time please email Debby Miles, Staff 11 at kn6yap21-dcs@yahoo.com. Please note that there are 10 spots that can be reserved per 30-minute time slot and it is a first emailed, first served basis. Anyone arriving outside of their slotted appointment or without a
reservation may have to wait. As always, the DCS Dress Code will be enforced.

Reminder to all DCS personnel that your old Identification is no longer a valid ID. We have the following dates and locations for personnel to do ID exchanges if they have not already done so. May 8th at Lomita Station, 1900 - 2100 hours; May 12th at EOB 1230 -
1400 hours (after training); May 14th at Santa Clarita Valley Station, 1900 - 2100 hours; and the final one on May 16th at Lancaster Station, 1900 - 2100 hours. NOTE: If you are not assigned to the station (Lomita, Santa Clarita or Lancaster) you must contact Debby
Miles, Staff 11, via email, to attend one of the previously stated dates and times.
