MANAGED SERVICES STREAMING SOLUTION: OVERVIEW STREAMING SOLUTIONS Streaming information over the Internet is a great way of extending your news and information image in a wider market. It gives you a substantial competitive advantage and is also a very cost-effective way of reaching customers or a target audience with live information. Whether you are a traditional radio station or a large organisation delivering live results or announcements to your shareholders or analysts, Internet streaming provides an exciting new channel to engage your audience. STREAMING SOLUTIONS IS Hosting’s live streaming solutions are specially designed to provide organisations who deliver live streaming media (for instance radio stations) with a state-of-the art streaming distribution network. The service is built on IS’ carriergrade backbone, and integrates the latest content-delivery technology. IS Hosting provides you with customised streaming services for radio, corporate result announcements, events and e-learning. HOW THE STREAMING SOLUTIONS WORK The data stream - typically a radio broadcast, results announcement audio/video feed, an event such as a launch or even an e-learning seminar - is delivered to IS via a leased or ISDN line, or suitable wireless technology. IS will then encode and transfer that stream to a hosted media server (in some cases encoding occurs before the data is delivered to IS). The encoded signal can now be delivered to your Internet audience. IS Hosting makes use of streaming caches, located on the periphery of our network, to ensure that high-quality streams are delivered to users’ PCs without signal degradation. SOLUTION HIGHLIGHTS Cost-effective channel marketing: the use of exceptional content-delivery technology, permitting unlimited concurrent users at a flat-rate charge, makes it possible to deliver streams cost effectively and with a business return. National and international streaming: the streaming solutions provide both national and international streaming. Easy delivery to your audience: your radio feed, results announcement or live event can be delivered directly to a laptop or PC located anywhere. Synchronising and archiving features: synchronising a slide presentation with the video stream allows users to view slide changes as they are made by the presenter. Investors have the opportunity to view the presentation at a later date via an on-demand archive. High-quality delivery: we use technology that minimises bandwidth without imposing any signal degradation. This delivers a consistent streaming quality for large numbers of simultaneous users. Online reporting and listener statistics: the solutions provide access to real-time statistics so that owners of the content can determine if they are receiving the desired coverage. Service managed and delivered via the IS Hosting infrastructure: equipment required for the streaming service is located in IS Hosting’s Data Centres, which are fully managed and supported. IS’ network delivers committed levels of availability and performance.
