Nomination of Kwa Zulu Natal Branch Committee for the Period 2010 to 2013
The term of office of the present KZN Branch Committee is about to expire and a new committee must be
elected at the Branch BGM on Wednesday 21 July 2010. The process starts with the call for nominations for
the committee by means of the nomination form below and ends with an election at the BGM to determine who
the new office bearers will be.
If you would like to nominate a member or members for the positions below, please fill in the name in the
appropriate block, propose the nomination, obtain a seconder for the nomination and ask the nominee to sign
in acceptance of the nomination. Once completed, forward the form to the branch Secretary to reach her by 20
July at the latest. Full details of the nomination process, including who may be elected and for which positions,
are provided on the nomination form.
Please make a special effort to attend the Branch BGM as this is your chance to vote for a new committee and
influence the running and activities of your branch. A Branch BGM notice and agenda will be circulated to all
KZN Branch members in due course. If you are thinking of standing for the committee or nominating someone
but are uncertain about what is involved or do not have a proposer /seconder or if you have any other queries,
contact any member of the Branch committee for assistance. Their names appear below.

Posts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are filled by Professional Members, and nominated by Voting Members.
Posts 3, 4, and 5 represent the Professional Members of the Branch.

Posts 6 and 7 are filled by Professional Members OR Members and nominated by Voting Members.
They represent the Members and Student Members of the Branch.

Professional Members, Honorary Life Members, Members, Custodian Member Representatives and
Institution Member Representatives are all SAAFoST Voting Members.
If this call for nominations letter is addressed to you and has been received directly from the SAAFoST
National Secretariat, you are a SAAFoST Voting Member
B. Each nomination must be supported by the signature of the proposer and seconder and certification
that the nominee accepts nomination. Any Voting Member may propose and second a nomination. To
ascertain your class of membership, refer to the beginning of this letter - it appears beneath your
name. (i.e. Professional Member, Honorary Life Member, Member, Custodian Member Representative
or Institution Member Representative).
C. This nomination form must be lodged with the Branch Secretary (Madelein Jansen, PO Box 962 New
Germany, 3620, fax 031 719 0725, madelj@fcraft.co.za) before Tuesday 20 July or may be handed in
to the Secretary before the commencement of the BGM on 21 July at 16:30.
D. Voting will be by ballot during the Branch BGM. Voting members will be able to vote for seven
individuals, namely: a chair, a vice chair, three professional representatives and two member/student
representatives. Non-voting Members (i.e. Student Members) may vote for two individuals, namely two
Member/Student representatives. Appropriate ballot forms will be made available at the Branch BGM.
