 Responsible for the Mineral Processing lab at the Phelps Dodge Mining Company’s corporate research
center – Supervised one engineer and three technicians.
 Project leader:
Elimination of Cyanide from a Molybdenite plant.
Investigated tailings copper recovery methods, including leaching/flotation and
engineering. Introduced two novel processes.
Investigated alternative methods of non-conventional comminution. This
work has led to a patent application.
Evaluated flash flotation technology.
 Quality Control leader (ISO) – Served as an internal auditor. Responsible for the implementation of the
quality standards for 30 business processes at the Phelps Dodge Process Technology Center.
 Performed feasibility studies for projects.
 Phelps Dodge representative – Evaluated proposals from the universities to be funded by the Department
of Energy in the area of mineral processing.
