Career Day Reflection Due Friday, May 17, 2013 or sooner The purpose of this assignment is to report what you learned at the career fair and how you felt about what you learned. Papers are to be in manuscript form: typed or handwritten in ink. You are encouraged to submit your Microsoft Word or wordprocessed document via email to dawnavanderpool@markupsync.com! Here’s what I should learn from your paper: o What you learned at the career fair—this information will come from the notes you took. The name and position of each person to whom you spoke The answers to your questions. Sum up what the person said to you. Quotes can really spice up your paper! Your personal opinion/response to each job you learned about at the career fair—would you be happy doing this work? Why or why not? Be specific. The more in depth you go with your answer the better. The reflection should be 7 paragraphs: o Introduction with a “lead that makes me wanna read” o A chunky paragraph on each of 5 people you spoke to, (5 different jobs, one job from a cluster you scored low in from the COIN interest inventory) o Topic Sentence Transitions o Conclusion o Imagery, word choice, figurative language….you should know by now that I WANT STYLE! Each paragraph should sound unique. Do not simply repeat the same words and phrases with different jobs added in. o Good conventions Career Day Reflection Due Friday, May 17, 2013 or sooner The purpose of this assignment is to report what you learned at the career fair and how you felt about what you learned.
