DRIVERS LGV2 - NUTTS CORNER
The Company:
Bondelivery has been operating in Ireland for over 40 years. In 1990 the company was
acquired by Norman McBurney of McBurney Transport and has since developed into one of
Ireland’s leading independent storage and distribution organizations. The company currently
provides storage services in a variety of areas, such ambient food, electronics, garments,
furniture, electrical goods and confectionery. We provide a distribution service through Ireland
to a range of customers, such as, wholesalers, retailers, domestic homes, offices and
manufacturers.
The company currently operates from three sites, firstly the main head office Nutts Corner
(Dundrod Road), secondly in Dublin and recently Carlisle (Hermes site managed by
Bondelivery). The company employs approximately 200 people ranging from Drivers,
Warehouse Operatives, Transport coordinators and Administration staff. The company has
achieved the quality standard ISO 9001:2008.
The Vacancies:
Due to continued innovation Bondelivery currently have vacancies within various departments
for LGV2 Drivers located at our Nutt’s Corner site. Drivers are required for multi drop
business, general deliveries/collections to various locations throughout Ireland.
Drivers will be primarily carrying out retail / trade deliveries, could be delivering palletised
loads, handball items (hanging garments / loose items / photocopy paper / catalogues etc) and
also deliveries that can be taken off at the point of delivery with a forklift truck; however, there
will be a requirement to handball items depending on the load / delivery point.
All drivers must be flexible to work from job to job and department to department and within
allocated time slots. It is essential that all applicants are able to work occasional overnights as
required. You are required to assist with loading and unloading depending on the contract
assigned. The positions are physically demanding and depending on the run, may require
returning to the depot for a second or third run. In the run up to Christmas, late finishes are
probable.
Successful applicants shall be involved in the following duties:
 Drive the company vehicle ensuring high standards of driving are maintained at all times.
 Ensure full compliance with the highway code and road safety legislation at all times.
 Ensure the Tachograph is used in accordance with legislative standards
 Ensure daily maintenance checks are conducted and any defects reported immediately.
 Perform all security checks daily and adhere to all security procedures as per drivers hand
book.
 Ensure the vehicle you are assigned to is maintained in a clean and tidy manner throughout
the day and at the end of run / shift.
 Check the integrity of all products and highlight any damaged products or movements in
transit immediately.

Ensuring your load is safe and secure at all times.
Ensuring your load is planned in sequence.
Check all delivery notes / Hand Held Terminal (HHT) ensuring the orders are fully
complete and accurate.
Check all delivery notes / Hand Held Terminal (HHT) for any special delivery requests.
Unloading deliveries as per customer instruction.
Delivery of goods to the customer in a timely manner ensuring the order is complete and
fully checked.
To work as a team with the delivery helper (if allocated) when lifting and making a
delivery.
Ensure for each delivery of pallets that the same number of empty pallets are returned.
If undertaking home deliveries of white or brown goods you must ensure that you remove
all packaging from the premises as a matter of routine. If installation is detailed on the
paper work and you are trained as an installer carryout the installation (do not attempt to
install cookers or work with live electrical wires).
If undertaking home deliveries of white or brown goods remove the old appliance if
requested by the customer i.e. washing machine, cooker, dishwasher, brown goods.
However you are not permitted to remove fridges or freezers.
Inform the company immediately of any hold up or any other difficulties experienced
whilst making a delivery i.e. shortages, failed delivery, damages, overages.
Ensure all collections are properly checked before signing / clausing collection
documentation.
Assist with any regular or periodic spot checks.
To load and unload vehicles safely using the appropriate lifting equipment ensuring no
damage caused to product / equipment / vehicles etc.
Unload vehicle and check contents against the delivery manifest.
Assist with general warehouse and yard housekeeping on an ongoing basis.
Liaise with other team members.
Any other duties when required.
Hours of work:
Full time - 43 per week, plus overtime as required
Days of work:
Full time – 4 or 5 days out of 7
Basic Rate of Pay:
Starting: £7.25 per hour gross
Rising to £7.56 per hour gross - plus various benefits
