Magic Kingdom
USEFUL TIPS
1. Begin your day by picking up a FASTPASS for your favorite attraction, especially if it is known to
be extremely busy.
2. If there happens to be more than one performance of the evening parade, the latter one tends to
draw a smaller crowd.
3. Wear comfortable footwear. You will be spending a lot of time on your feet.
4. Avoid the mealtime rush hours by eating early or late: before 11:00AM or after 2:00PM; and before
5:00PM or after 8:00PM.
5. If you’ve rented a stroller, make sure to return it before the night’s fireworks festivities. This way,
you can bypass the long lines at the stroller station and be on your way home.
6. During peak hours in midday, try experiencing these not-so-busy attractions while the lines die
down: Liberty Bell Riverboat, Hall of Presidents, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Enchanted Tiki
Room: Under New Management, Swiss Family Treehouse, Tom Sawyer’s Island, Country Bear
Jamboree, Carousel of Progress, and Walt Disney World Railroad.
7. If you are planning to have a full-service meal with your family, reserve advance priority seating
arrangements by calling 407-WDW-DINE (939-3463).
8. If you plan to attend on a very hot Florida day, make sure to dress toddlers in waterproof diapers.
This way, they’ll be free to play in the water play areas in the park.
9. If you want to meet the characters, get to Mickey’s Toontown Faire right when it opens at 10:00am.
Head to the Toontown County Bounty and there will be lines for meeting multiple characters.
10. A great place to watch the fireworks in the Magic Kingdom is from the dining terrace at the Plaza
Pavilion. You get to sit in an un-crowded area with the added benefit of having Tinkerbell coming
right at you!

Epcot
USEFUL TIPS
1. On your way into the park, pick up a free guide map and a times guide. Consult the entertainment
schedule first.
2. If you’ve purchased a park hopper, Epcot is an ideal park to hop around to. It is usually open very
late.
3. Be sure to check the Tip Board in Innovations Plaza frequently for wait times at the most popular
attractions.
4. During peak hours, try experiencing these not-so-busy attractions while the lines die down:
Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Journey into Imagination, Universe of Energy, O Canada,
Impressions De France, Reflections of China, and The American Adventure.
5. Epcot is home to a number of interactive fountains and water-inclusive areas for the kids. Be sure
to pack swimsuits for the little ones as they will be sure to enjoy a cool-off session following a long
day.
6. Classic Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Chip and Dale host all meals served at the
Garden Grill restaurant in The Land pavilion in Future World. Be sure to pay this revolving
restaurant a visit as the characters roam frequently to greet and interact with you.
7. It’s much easier to visit the characters at Epcot than at the Magic Kingdom since most people go to
the Magic Kingdom first and have already gotten their pictures and autographs. The most
characters are found at Character Connection in Future World between Innovations and Club
Cool and at The American Adventure. At both locations you can often meet more than four
Characters at once!
8. The Friendship water taxi is not likely to transport you across World Showcase lagoon any
faster than a brisk walk. You can save some time and get in some exercise at the same time.
9. For Illuminations viewing, make sure you have a clear view of the large black barges in the center
of the World Showcase lagoon. Try to find a spot where trees don’t block your view of the sky as
well.

Disney's Hollywood Studios
USEFUL TIPS
1. Find a spot along Hollywood Boulevard about 20 to 30 minutes before the Stars and Motor
Cars parade.
2. Be sure to see Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Voyage of The Little Mermaid
early in the day, before the crowds build up.
3. Check the Tip Board often to get an idea of exact show times and wait times.
4. The line for The Great Movie Ride is usually at its peak at midday and immediately following
the adjacent afternoon parade.
5. During peak hours in midday, try experiencing these not-so-busy attractions while the lines
die down: One Man’s Dream, Sounds Dangerous and MuppetVision 4D.
6. For park hoppers, there is a water taxi that links the Disney's Hollywood Studios to Epcot.
The boat docks to the left as you exit the Disney's Hollywood Studios.
7. If you choose to skip Fantasmic, keep an eye on your watch and plan to exit the park before
the show ends (twenty minutes after its start time). This way you will avoid the crowds in the
parking lots.
8. Guests on the left side of the tram may get wet at Catastrophe Canyon on the Backlot Tours,
while those on the right stay dry.
9. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s ride vehicles have no place to store loose articles. If there are items
that you are nervous about taking on the roller coaster with you, leave them with a non-rider
or rent a locker at the entrance of the park.
10. You need to arrive at least 45 minutes before Fantasmic starts to get a good view, but there is
Priority Seating offered if you eat at one of the full-service restaurants. Ask the guest relations
host by the Tip Board for more details.
11. On the Backlot Studios Tour, if you don't want to get wet, sit on the right when you load the
trams.
12. If you’d like to visit attractions that your child is too short for, ask a Cast Member about
“baby swap.” One adult can watch the kid while the other adult rides, then the second adult
goes to the front of the line. This way you don’t have to wait twice for the same attraction.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
USEFUL TIPS
1. Rainforest Café usually stays open longer than the park does. You can easily plan a meal after
you exit the park.
2. Check the Tip Board often for show times and wait times.
3. If you are planning to park hop, you may want to start your day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
since the park closes earlier than the others.
4. If you enjoy roller coaster attractions, make sure to get a FASTPASS for Expedition Everest
early in the day.
5. The lines are shortest for Kilimanjaro Safaris during the afternoon parade.
6. Be sure to pack plenty of water and refreshments. Most of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s
attractions take place outdoors and some people may overheat very quickly.
7. Everyone and everything will get wet on Kali River Rapids. Make sure that anything that
needs to stay dry is stored in a locker or with a non-riding member of your party.
8. On Kali River Rapids, make sure your feet are above the silver ring near the bottom of the
raft; otherwise water will go over your feet past your ankles. For those who want a drier trip,
wear a rain poncho to minimize what gets wet
9. Though young children may have loved the film A Bug’s Life, the attraction version “It’s
Tough to be a Bug!” contains intense special effects and may prove to be too scary for some.
10. Plan on arriving at least 30 minutes early for Finding Nemo the Musical.

About Disney’s FASTPASS
Disney recently began a new ride reservation system called FASTPASS. This system allows guests to
experience the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World with shorter waits. The way the system is
works is quite simple.
1. The guest arrives at the entrance of the attraction. Near the entrance is a large sign labeled
FASTPASS distribution. There also is a one hour window displayed (i.e. 12:00p – 1:00p). This
is the time that is currently available for FASTPASS and the time the guest would need to
return. The guest can return anytime during that one hour window.
2. The guest inserts his ticket into the FASTPASS machine. The FASTPASS machine spits out
his ticket and also spits out a FASTPASS with the one hour window printed on it. The ticket
also has the time you can obtain your next FASTPASS on it.
3. Sometime later, the guest returns to the attraction and heads for the FASTPASS return line.
There a Cast Member will check the ticket and let the guest in providing the current time is
within the FASTPASS’s one hour window.
The system is simple; however there are a few rules and tips you should know about FASTPASS.
FASTPASS is included in your theme park admission ticket. There is no extra
charge for FASTPASS and there is no upgrade for a better FASTPASS.
Every person in your party needs a FASTPASS ticket.
One member of your party can collect the tickets and obtain FASTPASSes for
everyone. This can be helpful if you want to get FASTPASSes for an attraction
that is on the other side of the park. The party might enjoy an attraction or grab
some food while one member can run over and get the FASTPASSes for the
group.
You are limited in the amount of FASTPASSes you can obtain at one time. The
rule is that you are allowed a FASTPASS every two hours, or you’re allowed to get
a new FASTPASS once the current FASTPASS time comes up, which ever time is
first. If this seems confusing than just keep in mind that the time you can obtain
your next FASTPASS is always printed on your FASTPASS ticket.
You are not allowed in early for any reason into the FASTPASS return line. Do
not worry about arriving right at the beginning of your one hour window, this leads
to wasted time.
You may see a line for the FASTPASS return entrance. Make sure to ask whether
or not the guests are waiting for their FASTPASS time. Some people arrive early
and wait to enter the FASTPASS return line. This is not advisable as it just wastes
time that could be spent enjoying other attractions.
Make sure to verify that your FASTPASS is valid. Valid FASTPASSes always have
a one hour window (i.e. 12:05p – 1:05p). Invalid FASTPASS always have THIS
FASTPASS IS NOT VALID in bold writing. If you receive an invalid
FASTPASS from the machine ask a Cast Member for assistance. Guests carrying
invalid FASTPASSes are denied entrance into the FASTPASS Return line.
Some FASTPASSes are more valuable than others. For example, Soarin’ at Epcot
nearly always has a line over an hour long. It’s Tough to Be a Bug at Animal
Kingdom, rarely gets a line over twenty minutes. So obviously, Soarin’
FASTPASSes are better since they are skipping over a much longer line. Here’s a
list of the FASTPASS attractions for each theme park in order of priority with the
usual wait times:

Magic Kingdom
CHARACTER MEET AND GREETS
While the popularity of the Magic Kingdom makes visiting at the characters a little more difficult than
the other parks, there is something magical about visiting Mickey at his house and coming upon a
princess in Fantasyland. That being said, meeting the characters at the Magic Kingdom does require a
little more planning and patience. Here are some tips for collecting those autographs and pictures
you’ve always wanted:
Main Street U.S.A
This is where you’ll find a large assortment of characters in the morning. You’ll also find some of the
longest lines for characters in the park. Since the early morning is better served visiting attractions, it is
not recommendable to visit characters on Main Street U.S.A until the evening.
Adventureland
Rafiki, Timon from The Lion King and Baloo and King Louie from The Jungle Book are often found near
the Adventureland entrance. Behind the Magic Carpets of Aladdin you might see Aladdin and Jasmine
from the movie Aladdin.
Fantasyland
Belle, from Beauty and the Beast reads her story in a little garden near Cinderella Castle. After the story,
she interacts with the fans in the audience. This can be one of the best ways to meet Belle, as they limit
the amount of people per show giving the guests more personal time for interaction. Check the Times
Guide for show times.
Frontierland
Throughout the day the Country Bears and other characters perform a hoedown, where guests can
dance and clap along to favorite folk songs.
Mickey’s Toontown Fair
At Mickey’s house in the judge’s tent, Mickey is available for autographs all day long. At the Toontown
County Bounty you can meet multiple characters at once from a single line. Mickey’s Toontown Fair
often opens an hour after the park, and in those cases it’s always advisable to get to Toontown for its
opening. In addition to seeing a cute opening ceremony, you’ll be able to position yourself first in line at
the Toontown County Bounty.
Tomorrowland
Buzz Lightyear and Stitch usually hang out across from Stitch’s Great Escape.

Epcot
CHARACTER MEET AND GREETS
Epcot is possibly the best theme park at Walt Disney World to meet the characters. This is mostly due
to the fact that the large size of the park means guests have a greater area to disperse in. The result is
some of the more pleasant character interactions to be found at Walt Disney World. Character Meet
and Greets can be found in the following locations:
Leave a Legacy
Much like the Magic Kingdom, in the morning you can find characters among the Leave a Legacy
sculptures at the Epcot entrance plaza. Since the early morning is when most attractions have the
shortest lines, you might postpone meeting the characters until later in the day.
Character Connection
Located between Innoventions and Club Cool, Character Connection is a great place to meet your
favorite Disney pals. From one line, which is indoors and therefore air conditioned, you’ll be able to meet
multiple characters at the same time. Usually available for autographs are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse,
Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck.
World Showcase
Throughout the day the characters can be found all around the World Showcase. In Mexico, Donald
Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito are available for autographs. Mulan and Mushu from the Disney film
Mulan can be found in China. Snow White, Dopey and Grumpy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
or Pinocchio sign autographs in Germany. Aladdin and Jasmine can be found in Morocco. In France
you’ll find Sleeping Beauty and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland
often wander around in the United Kingdom. If you want to visit the characters, than try to get to World
Showcase by the early afternoon for shortest lines.

RECOMMENDED DAILY ITINARIES
Magic Kingdom for Families with Preschoolers
This plan is designed for an arrival before 11:00. If you are planning to arrive after 12:00, the
plan will not be as effective.
Try to arrive as close to park opening as possible. This is especially
helpful when dealing with preschoolers because many of the attractions
that cater to preschoolers are low capacity and get very long lines
throughout the day.
If you’d like to visit attractions that your child is too tall for, ask a Cast
Member about “baby swap”. They let one adult watch the kid while the
other rides, then they let the second adult go to the front of the line. This
way you don’t have to wait twice for the same attraction.
1. You’ll enter through Main Street U.S.A.
2. Start your day in Fantasyland, by entering through Cinderella Castle. If
the Castle is closed off due to a show, you’ll have to use the path that
goes around the Castle moat.
3. Once in Fantasyland head to Peter Pan’s Flight.
4. Pick up a FASTPASS for Peter Pan’s Flight and then head over to ride
Dumbo the Flying Elephant.
5. Ride Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh.
6. Head over to Tomorrowland.
7. Ride Tomorrowland Indy Speedway.
8. Ride Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.
9. Go across the park to Adventureland.
10. Walk through Swiss Family Treehouse.
11. Take a spin on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
12. Ride Pirates of the Caribbean (May be a little too dark for some kids).
13. Take the rafts to Tom Sawyer’s Island
14. If your kids did ok in Pirates of the Caribbean you might try the
Haunted Mansion
16. Visit “it’s a small world”
17. Next watch Mickey’s Philharmagic
18. If your kids meet the 40" height requirement, you might try Big
Thunder Mountain (a fairly tame roller coaster that is a good starter for
kids. Beware, the first minute is dark and very noisy)
Here are recommendations for the rest of the day; they rarely have lines over 30
minutes:
Fantasyland
Cinderella's Golden Carrousel
Frontierland
Tom Sawyer’s Island (closes at dusk)
Adventureland
Jungle Cruise
Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland Transit Authority (no lines, and is a great resting attraction)
Liberty Square
Liberty Square Riverboat (leaves on the hour and half hour)

Magic Kingdom for Adults or Thrill Seekers
This plan is designed for an arrival before 11:00. If you are planning to arrive after 12:00, the plan will not be
as effective.
Try to arrive as close to park opening as possible.
1. You'll enter through Main Street U.S.A.
2. Take the first left from the center of the park into Adventureland.
3. Travel all the way down Adventureland past the Swiss Family
Treehouse, the Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Pirates of the
Caribbean.
4. The path will start to curve to the right.
5. Now you will be exiting Adventureland and entering Frontierland.
6. You'll pass Splash Mountain's large drop to your left as you head to its
entrance.
7. Obtain a FASTPASS for Splash Mountain.
8. Don't worry about the return time for now, worry about the time it
states when you can get your next FASTPASS.
9. Right next door is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
10. Unless the line is over 45 minutes ride Big Thunder Mountain
Railroad.
11. Now backtrack to Pirates of the Caribbean and ride (if the line looks
really long, don't be too discouraged. Once you get inside the building
it's usually about 20-25 minutes).
12. Head out of Adventureland the same way you came in passing Magic
Carpets of Aladdin and Swiss Family Treehouse.
13. At this point check your Splash Mountain FASTPASS ticket for when
you can obtain your next FASTPASS.
14. If you can obtain a new FASTPASS go across the park into
Tomorrowland and obtain a FASTPASS for Space Mountain. If you
need to kill some time before you can grab a FASTPASS, ride Buzz
Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.
15. At this point you’ve hit the major bottlenecks of the Magic Kingdom. If
you skipped Big Thunder Mountain Railroad earlier a good time to visit
is after dark 6:00 pm.
With the rest of your day I would recommend visiting these attractions. They rarely
have lines over 30 minutes.

Epcot for All Ages
This plan is designed for an arrival before 11:00. If you are planning to arrive after 12:00, the
plan will not be as effective.
Try to arrive as close to park opening as possible.
1. Upon arrival head underneath Spaceship Earth (the big golf ball) and stay on the right.
2. You'll pass the Art of Disney Store and Innoventions.
3. You'll see a gap in the buildings on the right.
4. Go through the breezeway and straight ahead is the Land Pavilion.
5. Downstairs is Soarin'.
6. Obtain FASTPASSes for Soarin' (40” height requirement).
7. Make sure to make a note of when you can obtain your next FASTPASS.
8. If the line for the attraction is under 30 minutes this might be a good opportunity to ride.
Then you come came back with your FASTPASS to ride for a second time.
9. Exit the Land Pavilion and head down the path to your left.
10. Enter the Seas with Nemo and Friends.
11. After the short ride you'll exit into the main pavilion where there are interactive exhibits.
12. Make sure you check out Turtle Talk with Crush. It’s an impressive showcase of
technology where the Crush the animated character from Finding Nemo talks with the
audience creating a unique show.
13. After exiting Living Seas head across to the other side of Future World.
14. As soon as you are able obtain a FASTPASS for Test Track (40” height requirement)
15. If you’re interested in riding Mission: Space (44” height requirement), but your child is
not tall enough make sure to inquire about a rider switch pass. There is a great
playground in the exit area for kids to play in where you can watch them while one adult
rides. After the first adult rides the second adult uses the switch pass to skip over the
line. That way you’ll only have to wait once. There are two versions. The Orange Team
uses a centrifuge (fast moving vehicle) to create high g-forces; the Green Team does
not spin but the vehicle does move with the movie (similar to Star Tours). If you suffer
from claustrophobia, keep in mind the vehicles are very small.
16. Congratulations! You've now tackled the longest lines in the park. At this point (if you
arrived early) you might be ready for lunch. Sunshine Seasons Food Plaza in the Land
Pavilion has a wide selection of good quality food.
Here are recommendations for the rest of the day; they rarely have lines over 30 minutes:

Spaceship Earth
Living with the Land Boat Ride (good attraction to ride while returning to use your
Soarin' FASTPASS)
Journey Into Imagination
Honey I Shrunk the Audience (loud sounds and tactile special effects might scare kids)
World Showcase
American Adventure Show (look in the Times Guide for performance times for the
Voices of Liberty pre-show, they are phenomenal)
El Rio Del Tiempo (not the best attraction, but it's air-conditioned and never has a wait)
Impressions De France (shows on the hour and half hour)

This plan is designed for an arrival before 11:00. If you are planning to arrive after 12:00, the
plan will not be as effective.
Try to arrive as close to park opening as possible.
1. Both of the thrill rides at Disney's Hollywood Studios Studios are quite intense for
kids, but if the adults want to ride then start by getting a FASTPASS
for Rock ‘n Roller Coaster, then ride Tower of Terror using “baby
swap” (where one parent watches the kid while the other rides, then
the parents switch places). Just ask a Cast Member for assistance.
2. Next watch the Voyage of the Little Mermaid.
3. Check the times guide for show times for Playhouse Disney Live on
Stage. Even though you don’t normally need to come early to get into
the theater, try to arrive early to get a seat close to the stage. The
theater is completely flat so it can be difficult for kids to see over other
people’s heads.
4. Next visit the Art of Disney Animation exhibit. If the line is over twenty
minutes, enter through the adjacent gift shop. There’s an entrance in
the back of the store through sliding doors. By going this way you miss
the short presentation at the beginning, but you still get to see all the
exhibits. Make sure you walk over to “Be a Character” to take the
personality test to find out what Disney character you are most like.
There’s also a drawing class so make sure to ask the Cast Member at
Animation Academy and ask when the next performance is.
5. At this point you’re going to need to schedule your day around the
shows you’re interested in. The shows are:
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (arrive 30 minutes early
on busy days)
Lights! Motors! Action! (Arrive 20 minutes early on busy days)
Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage (arrive 30 minutes early
on busy days)
Here are recommendations for the rest of the day; they rarely have lines over 30
minutes:
Great Movie Ride (may be a little too scary for some kids)
One Man’s Dream (a great collection of Disney memorabilia, the movie at the
end is ok, but you can also just look at the exhibits and skip the movie)
MuppetVision 4D
Star Tours (if longer than 20 minutes use FASTPASS) (40” height
requirement)
Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure (closes at dusk)

Disney's Animal Kingdom
This plan is designed for an arrival before 11:00. If you are planning to arrive after
12:00, the plan will not be as effective.
Try to arrive as close to park opening as possible.
1. If arriving at park opening then head to Kilimanjaro Safaris, if not head to
Expedition Everest first.
2. Pick up a FASTPASS for Expedition Everest.
3. If the line for Expedition Everest is less than 30 minutes long than now would
be a good time to ride. That way you could ride for a second time later with
your FASTPASS. If you have small children who are too short to ride use
“baby swap” (where one parent watches the kid while the other rides, then the
parents switch places). Ask a Cast Member for assistance.
4. Check your Times Guide for the first show of Finding Nemo: The Musical. Plan
to arrive 30 minutes before the show.
5. Ride Kali River Rapids (warning gets you very wet).
6. Check out the Maharajah Jungle Trek, an exhibit with tigers and komodo
dragons.
7. Next head into Dinoland U.S.A and ride Primeval Whirl
8. Ride Dinosaur
9. Next check out Festival of the Lion King (plan on arriving about 20 minutes
before the show)
10. If you did not visit Kilimanjaro Safaris at the beginning of the day, then visit
immediately after Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade. Watch the parade in Africa
and right after it ends (the last float features Mickey) walk over to Kilimanjaro
Safaris. The line gets a lot smaller during the parade and the animals are more
active in the early evening.
Other recommendations:
It’s Tough to Be a Bug
Don’t overlook the animals around the Tree of Life; there are
kangaroos, lemurs and Galapagos tortoises to discover.
Pangani Forest Exploration trail features gorillas, hippos and other
African animals.
