Professional Experience
Computer and Information Systems Manager
Aug. 2005 - Present

Senior technical advisor to C-level executives for the training of information technology
personnel and employment of information technology assets. Managed the lifecycle
replacement, preventive maintenance and repairs of all office automation and
telecommunications assets valued at $6 million. Meticulously, coordinated with outside vendors
for the timely repair and services for information technology assets. Facilitated the initial
fielding of telecommunications equipment to serve as the primary communications system to
support international operations throughout Central and South America. Managed and final
approving authority for the budget utilized for daily operations and procurement of information
technology assets and services.

Successfully managed the implementation of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for the processing of
classified data throughout the Pacific, which included Alaska, Hawaii, Korea, and Japan.
Procured software valued at $150,000 to upgrade 30 servers and successfully distributed 10,000

computer access cards and readers. Authored the initial Public Key Infrastructure policy for the
Pacific, which was later adopted by the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command as the
standard for the entire continental United States communications community. The project
provided a secure login capability for over 7,000 users and the implementation of a resource to
support non-repudiation for the organization.

Managed a datacenter in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) which included 110 servers
that provided Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Adobe Connect, and Cisco IP
telephone services to 7,000 combat support personnel in Baghdad, Iraq. Supervised the
registration of domains and IP subnets issued to the organization and subordinate elements for
wide area network access. Supervised 12 contract personnel for the implementation of critical
information technology assets on the secret and unclassified network to provide C-level
management with a timely status of daily operations.

Provided technical guidance and analysis for the procurement of hardware, software and
peripheral devices worth $2 million, to upgrade the datacenter while conducting daily
operations in a high stress environment. The datacenter infrastructure was successfully
upgraded with 12 new servers and transitioned from Microsoft Exchange 2003 to 2007 and the
Adobe connect servers were upgraded from Adobe Connect 7 to Adobe Connect 8. Conducted
daily backups, review of event logs, and ensured server updates were current and in accordance
with information assurance policies and guidelines.

Managed active directory objects and application services which included Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), Microsoft Exchange and
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) for users from 13 different countries in
a high stress and constantly changing environment in accordance with the organization’s
information assurance policies and guidelines.
