Hutchinson Recreation Commission Job Title: Customer Service Manager Reports To: Superintendent of DNC FLSA Status: Part-time/Non-Exempt/Hourly Division: Dillon Nature Center Supervisory: Yes Pay Grade: 13 Salary Range: $10.39 - $14.90/hr Location: Dillon Nature Center Summary: Manages front desk operations for Dillon Nature Center, including gift shop, facility rentals, and memberships. Purpose: Assures sufficient and quality customer service for Dillon Nature Center by working front desk shifts; training/scheduling front desk staff and managing operations. Relates to public in a manner that is courteous, effective, and equitable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include but are not limited to the following, and other duties as assigned. Ensures quality customer service through: Answers telephone and direct calls to the appropriate staff. Accurately sends E-mail messages to appropriate staff. Hires, trains, schedules and supervises front desk staff. Orders gift shop inventory and keep accounts of the gift shop. Scheduling/staffing facility rentals; ensures all contracts and payments are processed accurately and efficiently. Responsible for billing and weekly deposits for sales. Collects, sends, and records brick sales. Coordinates lying of the bricks with the Natural Resource Manager. Responsible for consignment sales Maintains proper office procedures, equipment and supplies. Ensures that office mail gets to the post office daily. Assists the full-time staff with various clerical duties including mailings, data entry, etc. Maintains accurate and organized files and records that provide for efficient information access. Requires efficiency in time-management skills, the ability to plan ahead and to organize responsibilities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Excellent communications, both oral and written, to effectively answer and serve the public’s questions and needs. Knowledge of recreation philosophy, and public relations is preferred. Education/Training/Experience: Associates Degree in related field or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Maintain a valid (Class C) Kansas driver’s license. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondences. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the general public and staff. Math Ability: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Knowledge of budgeting and simple math is required. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions. Computer Skills: Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software (Excel), inventory software, payroll/timekeeping systems and project management software. Basic office machinery, including but not limited to: computer, and recreation software. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to minimal weather conditions; cold and warm weather. The employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
