C) Calotype (talbotype): Paper coated with silver iodide D) Albumen print: Paper coated with egg whites E) Gum print: Paper coated with Gum Arabic and dichromate F) Autochrome: Glass plate coated with potato starch Basic Art 12: Negative vs Positive Images ** Negative images, colors become inverted; for example, white becomes black **The daguerreotype and tintype processes create NEGATIVE images, but they appear as POSITIVE images **The autochrome process creates NEGATIVE image before colors are restored, which creates the final POSITIVE image Creates a Positive Image: Gum print and Autochrome Creates a Negative Image: Daguerreotype, Tintype, and Calotype Exercise: For each photography process, create a catchy way to remember the process.
