Use of Results-how plan will/has Develop other team building experiences as appropriate Will consider doing DiSC training in 08-09 impacted learning environment of VCC and improvement of the educational programs and/or processes UNIT: Winter Park Campus Dean of Students Team building is ongoing as staff change; will have two retirements in 08-09 and at least three other positions will most likely turn over due to graduations/staff getting full-time positions Dean of Students is working on expectation management for staffing; as campus continues to grow with no increase in staff there will be longer lines and we eliminated part-time advising position, so there is less availability for advising so wait times or times when students may have to return for service may increase STEWARD: Dr. Cheryl Robinson TITLE OF PLAN: Cooperative Learning Community Support DATE: May 28, 2008 CRITERIA PLANNING PHASE Initial Information and Projections Support the work of the Cooperative Learning Community 1. Goal2. Outcome Measures Dean of Winter Park Campus and CLC Coordinator will report satisfaction with the Student Services component of the CLC A majority of students will report on the evaluation form that they feel a connection to the college at the end of the term 3. Collaboration with Meet with CLC Coordinator and Dean of Winter Stakeholders-individuals and groups Park Campus at the beginning of each term to involved in the planning and identify Student Services needs of the CLC implementation Conduct Atlas Coach and Success Coach trainings for new CLC staff participants Provide ongoing refresher training for existing Success Coaches prior to each assignment during each term as needed Revise CLC Student Services assignments based on student and Success Coach feedback Collaborate with faculty to assign staff to classes as requested 4. Use of Results-how plan will/has impacted learning environment of VCC and improvement of the educational Atlas Coach assignments will be modified as needed based on staff and student feedback Staff trainings will be modified as needed based Dean of Winter Park Campus and CLC Coordinator reported satisfaction with Student Services support Success Coaches were not utilized during the year, so this evaluation form was not done Meetings held with Dean and CLC Coordinator to discuss support needed No new CLC participants were used so no training was conducted Success coaches were not requested this year so no refresher training was provided No revisions to assignments were indicated Atlas Coach was assigned to faculty member who requested services Reviewed Student Services component with Dean of Winter Park Campus and CLC coordinator Evaluation forms were not collected as Success Coaches (mentors) were not requested during the year. Only one Atlas Coach served and she reported satisfaction with the presentation and assignments Student evaluations were not collected as only one professor used an Atlas Coach and student assignments were completed as assigned The faculty member who used the Atlas Coach reported satisfaction with the process and assignments No revisions to assignments made as no changes were indicated. No staff were trained for this process as existing programs and/or processes on staff and student feedback trained staff were used, thus no change to trainings will be made at this time. Use of Results-how plan will/has impacted learning environment of VCC and improvement of the educational programs and/or processes PLANNING PHASE Initial Information and Projections Grow Campus enrollment by 1% each term Final enrollment numbers as reflected in the mirror Attend every reading, English, and math course offered each term to increase retention and promote registration and answer student questions Promote registration at Student Forums Dean of Students will attend SGA meetings when able to hear student feedback relating to campus climate and college processes Show Power Point slides on Synergy with registration messages Coordinate with Transitions to have College representation at Winter Park Community events Final enrollment numbers as reflected in the mirror Student feedback on strategies from student leader meetings Use student feedback and enrollment numbers to make plans to revise strategies for recruitment and retention for the next year EVALUATION PHASE Modifications, Outputs, Outcomes Campus enrollment grew over 15% each term Attended many classes to encourage enrollment in next term Promoted registration at each Student Development and SGA event Dean of Students attended SGA meetings as schedule allowed to get student feedback and build connection to students Synergy was utilized to market enrollment Winter Park Campus had a booth at the Unity Heritage Festival at the two day even over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend Final enrollment numbers substantially increased over previous year and far exceeded goal Student leader feedback regarding registration processes was positive Dean of Students will continue attending SGA and Student Development events Dean of Students will continue to attend SGA meetings as schedule allows Synergy will continue to be utilized to promote enrollment and educational planning Booth at Unity Heritage Festival built community good will, but yielded little in enrollment interest, so may discontinue this practice
