The order of events for Thursday’s races will be Bandits, Young Guns, Semi-Pros and Young
Lions, Masters and Pros. We should start at about 4:50.
Time is very critical; we are dealing with NASCAR as well as Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Please
be prepared for your race well ahead of time.
Raceceivers will be mandatory; the channel will be#973. Make certain that you have new
batteries!
You will need to line up in your starting position prior to moving onto the “Big” track. Time
permitting, we will run heat races for all, lap amount to be determined. Once your heat race
is thru, you need to get right back in staging for your feature race. You might not have the
time after the heat, to pull into the infield for adjustments; all adjustments should be made in
staging. You can bring the necessary tools to the grid area. If there are two heats the finish of
the first heat will line up on the inside with the second heat on the outside. If there is one heat
the finish will set the start of the Main event. There will be no final feature lineup posted, once
on the track the final lineup will be done by Raceceiver.
Staging will be in turn one of the “Big” track. Once you pull onto the track for your race you
need to be ready for a start, two by two, nose to tail. The starter will show when there is one
lap to go, or if the backstretch flagman shows you a furled yellow flag you will be taking the
green on the front stretch. Once the race is over you will exit off turn one heading back to
your pit area. Be careful pulling off the track.
All main events will be 20 Laps, time permitting. Laps might be added or subtracted.
On the original start there will be no jumping or passing until you pass the start finish line.
Once past the start finish you can pass at will. If you inadvertently pass a car prior to the start
finish and allow that car to regain their position by the backstretch, there will be no penalty.
If you do not, you will be penalized either at the finish, or at the next yellow, the number of
positions you had gained by jumping.
All restarts will be single file, nose to tail. Lap cars will remain in their running positions. Once
the green is displayed you may pass to the right only until you cross the start finish, once past
the start finish, you may pass on either side. As mentioned above, if you jump before the
green flag or pass a car to the left, prior to the start finish, you will be penalized the same as
jumping the original start. Once again if you give the spot back prior to the backstretch
there will be no penalty.
If the yellow comes out, after the white flag is displayed, the race will finish under yellow. All
other yellows will not count. After a yellow, all cars will line up as they were running at the last
completed green flag lap. Listen to your Raceceiver for directions.
If you are shown the black flag, and are unsure of the reason, pull back around to staging
for a possible “Stop and Go” penalty.
After your race is finished, please pull straight off turn one and back to the pits. Please no
additional laps, save the time for the next group of racers.
If you break down or are in a wreck. Stay in your car and keep buckled up. These are short
races and we will get you ASAP. Try to pull as far as possible out of harms way so that we
might be able to continue the race. Please be a good sport by being time conscious of your
fellow racers. Please, if you spin or stop, get going as soon as you can. Do not assume the
yellow flag will come out to save you. We know it is frustrating to be out of the race, but
please show some sportsmanship to the other racers by getting going as quickly as you can.
The top five cars will need to go directly to tech. Awards will be given to the top five.
Most of all have fun and enjoy racing at Lowes during Speedweeks 2009!
