ANGEL Administrator This job is a full time, benefited position in the Academic Affairs Division that reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university with background in learning management systems; and familiarity with Microsoft suite software. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree; industry experience and a thorough understanding of mechanical nature of course management software (especially ANGEL), including experience with added functionality beyond basic shell building; programming experience; demonstrated knowledge of instructional design and learning outcomes. Prior experience in supporting users of a Learning Management System highly desirable in technical back end role; familiar with user aspects, problems, implementation, set up and maintenance of online courses; adept at troubleshooting user problems; supportive and cooperative with users. Possess advanced technical computer skills, including experience with learning management software. Demonstrated experience with Learning Management System administration. Communicate clearly and effectively with others both verbally and in writing and be able to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff and other outside contacts. Ability to organize and prioritize workload in order to meet necessary deadlines. Ability to make independent judgments/decisions. Possess knowledge and experience in instructional systems design for all methods of technology enabled curriculum. Experience in developing technology enabled courses. Job Description Summary: Under general to limited supervision, the ANGEL Administrator will provide support to ANGEL users and administer the ANGEL Learning Management System. This would include responding to student and faculty phone calls and e-mails regarding ongoing ANGEL maintenance issues such as login and password retrieval, archiving course designs, and other duties assigned. In those instances where advanced tech support is required, this person will coordinate more technical problems with the appropriate state authority to resolve the issue (GVTC webmaster). This person will oversee the installation of all system updates, upgrades, building blocks, and other software integrated with ANGEL and collaborate with the eLearning Coordinator to establish system defaults, policies and procedures, and strategic plans for system use and expansion. Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Performs all ANGEL installations, upgrades, and setup of ANGEL building blocks Administers ANGEL courses: create new shells and manages existing ones; recycles and archives courses Troubleshoots ANGEL technical issues by providing first-line ANGEL technical support and user assistance Coordinates more technical concerns with the GVTC webmaster and follows up until technical support issues are resolved 2. Collaborates with the eLearning Coordinator and the VPAA Works under the supervision of the VPAA to establish system defaults, policies & procedures, and strategic plans for system use and expansion, and efficient use of software. Monitors system usage and provides basic statistical data as needed regarding general web trends and traffic hit reports Collaborates with other various campus entities to ensure proper integration of ANGEL with the College’s ERP system (BANNER) and existing academic processes Handle and support ANGEL server-side administrative tasks Assists director in developing, coordinating and conducting technical training activities for new and continuing faculty. 3. Performs other administrative support tasks Works within a team support environment and assists with other projects as needed Collaborates with other coworkers in performing departmental support tasks Presents a can do/positive attitude in the execution of work. 4. Reads professional literature and translates complex or technical information into a meaningful format that may be understood by others. Coordinates meetings, establishes agendas and records accurate minutes of meetings. 6.
